Romy Reiner had a very somber birthday this past weekend. Just two weeks after parents Rob and Michele Reiner were killed on December 14, allegedly by her own brother Nick, the actress turned 28 on Saturday. She marked the occasion at a Malibu beach house, where she has reportedly been staying ever since the killings (it's unclear if it's her parents' property). Her main home is just across the street from the Brentwood mansion where she found the When Harry Met Sally director and his wife slain, so it's understandable why she might want some space from there! According to DailyMail.com on Sunday, Romy has been staying on the beach property with her boyfriend Alex Silberberg, her brother Jake and his girlfriend Maria Gilfillan, and her maternal aunts, Suzanne Singer and Martine Weinstock. In photos snapped on Saturday - Romy's birthday - she was seen for the first time since the horrific deaths on the porch of a home with two unknown female friends. Similarly, Jake was seen out over the weekend, as well. He and Maria were seen on a shopping outing on Saturday in Malibu, where they were photographed holding hands and walking through a parking lot. He wore a Dodgers baseball hat and sunglasses to keep a low profile. His first public appearance was last Tuesday when the couple was photographed on a coffee run. See HERE. Jake and Romy have been supporting each other ever since this horrific scandal began, a source previously told DM: "His motto is 'family first.' That's something Rob and Michele had always prioritized and taught their children. ... They all felt it was really important to come together as a family for the festive week and to mark Romy's birthday, however subdued the celebrations." According to a new insider, Jake is "determined to get his sister through this" and has become the "glue" holding the family together. A confidant expressed: "It's an enormous burden, but he's the oldest and he sees it as his duty." We can't imagine how difficult this all has been for them.
