"Each kid got a puppy," Kim wrote, alongside a photo of the pups lined up next to each other. Two of them have dark brown fur, one has a sable coat, and another one is beige. @kimkardashian But while some people might have swooned over the dogs, others were less impressed. PETA even criticized Kim for seemingly purchasing the puppies instead of adopting them. Tristar Media / Getty Images PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk shared her thoughts in a statement to People, saying, "Puppies are not plushies, and it's a damn shame that Kim missed the chance to be a spokesperson for shelter pups and instead is being rightly slammed on social media for that." Jb Lacroix / Getty Images Ingrid also directed her message to Khloé Kardashian, who gifted her kids, Tatum and True, a Black Labrador for Christmas. She said that next time, she and Kim should "call PETA or a local shelter" to adopt a dog. @khloekardashian "[They can] try to make some amends now by sending their kids to volunteer at a local shelter or paying for a local shelter adopt-a-thon or at least one spay day to help stop the growing homeless puppy crisis," she concluded. Back in 2012, she was flour-bombed at her fragrance launch for wearing fur, though her former media strategist later claimed the moment was staged. Frazer Harrison / Getty Images More recently, Kim was called out by Ireland Baldwin - the daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger - for wearing an elephant Birkin in a photoshoot tied to her Hulu series All's Fair. "This is so disgusting and shameful," Ireland wrote on Instagram over images of Kim with the bag. "I don't understand how these people are supported the way they are."
