Luke Bryan's wife, Caroline "Lina" Bryan, is detailing what she considers to be a "normal" interaction in their family amid the holidays. "Nothing about my family is normal," Caroline, 45, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, December 27. "I was just taking a much wanted bath ... suddenly my mother in law and son just open the doors like it was Zero Dark Thirty ... sit down and just start having a casual conversation with me." She continued, "Oh ... and after that, I look outside and Luke is riding around on an excavator. Well, it is normal for us." Caroline and Luke, 49, met in college at Georgia Southern University when they were at a local bar. Luke Bryan Celebrates 17th Wedding Anniversary With Wife Caroline Bryan "It took me eight seconds to figure it out and it took her about eight years to figure it out," he revealed to The Boot in February 2013. "I had to drink a lot before I could go talk to her, but I did. Somehow I managed to ease over there and somewhat be charming. It was one of those situations for me, it was like, 'Who is that and how do I go talk to her? And, yep, I'm going to marry that girl.'" The pair went on to date for more than a year before breaking up after a conversation about marriage. Four years later, Caroline and Luke rekindled their romance. "She was three years younger than me in college," Luke told the Huffington Post in March 2012. "I was about done with school when we met. So I kinda went off and did my thing in Nashville and she finished up her college experience and it kinda allowed us to both go get our feet a little firmer on the ground." Luke and Caroline tied the knot in 2006 and welcomed sons Bo and Tate in 2008 and 2010, respectively. After Luke's sister and brother-in-law died, he and Caroline also adopted their three kids: Jordan, Kris and Tilde. Luke Bryan Marks Wife Caroline's Birthday: 'Thank God Yo Butt Was Born' "It's just what you do as family," Luke explained during an October episode of CNN podcast's All There Is with Anderson Cooper. "And I guess you go into a tribe instinct and you do what you can to kind of make it ... But Til it wasn't necessarily an adoption more like we were, we had to sign paperwork that he's our responsibility. And watching him come into our home and have to grieve the loss of his dad was really, really tough. And to watch my wife step up and do the work that she had to do was one of the most impressive things I've ever seen." While reflecting on his sister's death, Luke explained that "you have to find silver linings" and "appreciate" them. (Luke explained in the podcast that sister Kelly Bryan experienced "sudden death syndrome" and had a "pretty severe" orbital bone injury, adding, "So whether she fainted or not, I think she may have went into the floor and kind of knocked herself out.") "My oldest Bo and Til, I mean, it is all brotherly. It looks and smells just like two brothers complaining and fighting and wrestling and giving each other a hard time," he said. "But with Tate, my 15-year-old and Til, they have a really special bond, and I can't imagine a household where Til would have never grown up in it. And, I mean, it's just been a blessing and a silver lining to have him and to watch the girls go through life and become mothers and... and get through life daily has been pretty inspiring too. I'm really proud of them."
