Catholic influencer Paul Kim is sharing an update as his 5-year-old son, Micah, is on life support. "Update: Micah is a fighter. His vitals are steady. His lungs are on a respirator but slowly getting stronger. His kidney needs help so please pray for God's divine intervention on that today," Kim wrote via Instagram on Sunday, December 28. "Keep praying hard for that miracle. God commands us to pray and not grow weary. Ven. Fulton Sheen, pray for us." Kim wrote in the caption, "Jesus we surrender to You, take care of everything. Amen." Kim shared via Instagram on December 21 that Micah "is having a medical emergency right now and headed to the hospital in an ambulance." In a separate post, Kim added that Micah is in the ER and "not doing well." He went on to note that Micah is "on life support" and asked his followers for prayers. Influencer Paul Kim's Son, 5, on Life Support After 'Medical Emergency' "Please pray. 🙏🏼 ," Kim wrote in a separate Instagram post. "Micah is fighting for his life but it's going to take a miracle for him to recover. This has been the hardest day of our lives." Gwen Stefani shared her support in the comments section of the post, writing, "praying for u," alongside the praying hands emoji. Jonathan Roumie added with a praying hands emoji and a cross emoji, "Archbishop Fulton Sheen please intercede for the complete and total healing of Micah in the Precious Name of Jesus Christ." In a subsequent update on December 22, Kim shared that Micah "needs a miracle in order to survive." "His scans are showing that his brain activity is not present. He is receiving the anointing of the sick at the 3 PM hour when Divine Mercy redeemed us all. We humbly ask you to join us in praying for a miracle (through the intercession of Archbishop Fulton Sheen)," Kim wrote via Instagram. Six days after the initial post, Kim shared that Micah's surgery "went successfully" and his heart is now beating on its own, but that his lungs are on a ventilator so he's "still on life support." Kim explained that there's a "greater problem that we are facing right now," which is that Micah is "absolutely in need of a miracle." Influencer Melissa Mae Carlton Shares 'Update' on Daughter's Cause of Death "They did an MRI scan of his brain and they are saying it is so severely damaged that there is no medical possibility, in their opinion, that he can recover," Kim said in his Saturday, December 27, Instagram post. "So here is what we are up against right now. We are up against the reality that at this point God must intervene. Our hearts are absolutely broken but we are not done fighting until the Lord says otherwise." Kim became emotional as he asked his followers to continue praying, noting that it's the "ninth hour." "It's getting close here, guys," Kim said. "We're getting pressure from the hospital to call it. So we are fighting so hard. We are fighting so hard to buy him as much time as possible. But it's getting really stressful and very difficult to navigate all of this." Kim captioned the post, "We're running out of time. The doctors are pressuring us to call it. We need to beg God for a miracle now. We beg you to join us and pray like you've never prayed before. Please also cover my family and I in prayer. We need wisdom to navigate this situation and take care of our other children." Hours later, Kim shared that he and his wife - with whom he shares six children - are "trying to hold onto faith." In the caption of his Saturday Instagram post, Kim noted that Micah "continues to show some improvement in a damaged kidney." Influencer Lindsay Dewey, whose 22-month-old son died in February, wrote in the comments section, "Amen. Keep fighting in the spirit. It's NOT over."
