Posted 28 minutes agoHere Are 2 Movies And 2 Shows To Watch This Weekend, Including "Stranger Things" Season 5, Vol. 2Honestly, nothing sounds better than spending the days between Christmas and New Year's at the movies.by Nora DominickBuzzFeed StaffFacebookPinterestLink This week in Screen Time, I recommend ditching your family after Christmas, and staying inside with a glass of wine (or a cup of hot chocolate), or venturing to a movie theater for popcorn and a Diet Coke, to watch some of these TV shows and movies. From Stranger Things Season 5, Vol. 2 to Timothée Chalamet's next buzzy Oscar movie, I get into it all. Plus, I share some of our biggest puppy and kitten interviews from 2025. Let's go! And if you're saying, "Hey! I love all of that stuff," then you can get Screen Time delivered directly to your inbox by subscribing here! Here's what the newsletter is covering this week: BuzzFeed Stranger Things - watch for: The type of jaw-dropping chaos only Stranger Things can deliver Netflix Streaming on NetflixUnless you stayed up late and watched these episodes on Christmas night, if so, like congrats, you are doing it correctly, then you're probably getting ready to hunker down and binge-watch these next three episodes of Stranger Things this weekend. That's right, following the events of Season 5, Vol. 1, the next installment picks up right where we left off. In case you need a quick refresher, the first batch of episodes ended with Will (Noah Schnapp) realizing his powers and saving several of his friends, including Mike (Finn Wolfhard), from Demogorgons. Meanwhile, Nancy (Natalia Dyer), Jonathan (Charlie Heaton), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), and Steve (Joe Keery) are in the Upside Down searching for Holly (Nell Fisher), and Hopper (David Harbour) and Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) have just found Kali (Linnea Berthelsen) in the Upside Down, too. Oh, and Max (Sadie Sink) has been trapped in Vecna's (Jamie Campbell Bower) mind, and with Holly by her side now, they hope to make their escape. Personally, I'm so excited to see how these three episodes lead us to the grand finale. And I know Episode 6, titled "Escape from Camazotz," will surely be making me sob. Marty Supreme - watch for: Another Oscar-worthy performance from Timothée Chalamet A24 / Everett Collection In theaters nowTimothée Chalamet has been on an incredible run in terms of star-making performances. He's already been nominated for two Oscars, and with Marty Supreme, there's already buzz that he'll be a frontrunner in the Best Actor category once again. Directed by Josh Safdie, the film follows Marty Mauser (Chalamet), a ping pong star who strives for greatness as he seeks to build the sport in the US. The first screening of the film back in October already drummed up excitement, and as the release date got closer, and more Marty Supreme jackets were handed out, I got more and more curious about what Chalamet would do with this role.
Not only is Chalamet one to watch with this film, but Gwyneth Paltrow and Odessa A'zion are also giving memorable performances. Could this be the movie that lands Chalamet an Oscar? Or will he fall just short once again? You've got to go see Marty Supreme to judge for yourself. The Housemaid - watch for: Amanda Seyfried being a scene stealer once again Lionsgate / Everett Collection In theaters nowBased on the novel by Freida McFadden and directed by Paul Feig, The Housemaid is probably the movie your mom would love for you to take her to this holiday season. The movie follows Millie Calloway (Sydney Sweeney), a young woman with a troubled past who becomes a live-in housemaid for a very wealthy family. Soon, the family's perfect life begins to unravel as dark secrets about the couple (Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar) begin to come to light. While the movie is said to make a slight departure from the source material, it apparently only makes the movie more thrilling. Like other TV and movie thrillers, this might be categorized as a "guilty pleasure" watch, which is what makes it perfect for the time between Christmas and New Year's, where time is irrelevant, and all you want to do is watch movies. Seyfried is the scene stealer in this one, which shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who has followed her career. Kind of returning to her Jennifer's Body roots, she's able to give an unhinged performance you can't look away from. Fallout - watch for: Ella Purnell proving why she's a queen of the sci-fi genre Prime Video Fallout FINALLY returns with its second season. And, after a critically acclaimed first season, it has a lot to live up to. Based on the beloved video game series, the new season picks up in the aftermath of Season 1, as this season takes us away from Los Angeles into the desert city of New Vegas. Once again, following Lucy (Ella Purnell) and The Ghoul (Walton Goggins), we'll see them make their way to New Vegas through the Mojave Wasteland as they try to uncover more secrets about Vault-Tec and find L
