The fictional chef, however, was largely absent from the Netflix series after Bravo previously threw shade at how his character was portrayed. "[Lucas] really wasn't consulted [on Gabriel's season 5 arc], and he just chose to come back to the show," creator Darren Star told Decider in December 2025.
