Aaron Phypers' latest comments about Denise Richards are raising eyebrows. After attending court on Friday, December 19, to face charges of allegedly injuring his estranged wife, Phypers, 53, brought up Nick Reiner, the suspect accused of murdering Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner. "I've never assaulted her. I've never done anything. I don't chase her down," Pyphers told TMZ in response to Richards' allegations. "This is all show. She's just playing this as a game. It's like the #MeToo Movement. I don't know what else to say." He continued, "What happened to Rob Reiner recently? There's a lot of influence there, guys. And I'm not calling stuff out, but do a drug test. You'll see what I'm saying. What happened with his son?" Denise Richards and Estranged Husband Aaron Phypers' Relationship Timeline When a reporter replied back that there's speculation Nick, 32, was on substances at the time of his parents' murders, Phypers continued sharing his thoughts. "When people are on a bunch of substances and washing it down with other substances, what happens?" he asked. "Is their mental sight good? I don't know what else to say. I don't know what else to say. This is how to ruin people 101." Us Weekly has reached out to Richards' team for comment. When a reporter asked for further clarification, Phypers replied, "I'm not linking anything." Lisa OConnor/AFF-USA.com / MEGA Rob and Michele were found dead at their Brentwood, California, home on Sunday, December 14. They were 78 and 70, respectively. Their son Nick - who has been open about his struggles with addiction - was later charged with two counts of first-degree murder. Nick faces life in prison without parole or the death penalty if convicted, and his arraignment is set for January 7, 2026. "This is a devastating tragedy that has befallen the Reiner family," Nick's lawyer, Alan Jackson, told reporters on Wednesday, December 17. "We all recognized that our hearts go out to the entire Reiner family. There are very, very complex and serious issues that are associated with this case. Those need to be thoroughly, but very carefully dealt with and examined and looked at and analyzed." Phypers' comments come as his divorce battle with Richards, 54, continues on. Back in October, Phypers was hit with two felony counts of injuring a spouse and two felony counts of dissuading a witness by force or threat. If convicted, Phypers could face years in prison. Did Nick Reiner Live With His Parents Rob and Michele Reiner? What to Know "We can confirm that Aaron Phypers was, in fact, arrested near the end of the family law court day on October 17, 2025, and was later released on bail," Phypers' attorney previously told Us. "We have not seen the criminal complaint, but we believe that it is most likely based upon some of the same false accusations that Denise Richards has brought against Mr. Phypers in the family law domestic violence proceeding, which she claims occurred nearly four years ago. If so, we expect that the evidence will demonstrate Mr. Phypers' innocence and that he will be acquitted." Phypers first filed for divorce from Richards in July after six years of marriage, citing "irreconcilable differences." That same month, Richards went public with domestic violence allegations. Phypers has denied ever being violent with Richards, telling Us that he believes she "conjured up" her accusations.
