The body of Pulp Fiction actor Peter Greene was reportedly found with "some injuries" last week inside his New York City apartment, according to reports. Law enforcement sources alleged on Thursday, December 18, that the actor's body exhibited "injuries but it's undetermined what caused the injuries," reported TMZ. An official cause of death has not been released by the Medical Examiner's office. Greene, 60, was found on Friday, December 12, lying "face down" on the floor of his Lower East Side apartment with an undefined "facial injury." Neighbors who spoke to the New York Daily News said that they saw "blood everywhere" inside Greene's apartment. One neighbor claimed a mysterious note was also discovered at the scene. The message allegedly read: "I'm still a Westie," a reference to the Irish American street gang that ran Hell's Kitchen during the 1970s. Us Weekly's sources could only confirm Greene did suffer a perhaps fatal injury to his face. The New York Post's Page Six spoke to Greene's former manager Gregg Edwards who said he didn't perceive a single sign that hinted the actor, who was also known for his work in Jim Carrey's The Mask, was suicidal in the days before his death. Edwards even claimed Greene, who was originally from Montclair, New Jersey, was reportedly making New Year's Eve plans with pals. New York actor and musician Skam Dust told Page Six Greene planned to spend the holiday with him and his friends Danny Diablo a.k.a. Lord Ezec and graffiti writer MQ. "He was going to rent a truck limousine and Peter's vision was that we were going to go bar hopping and restaurant hopping," Dust said. "He wasn't suicidal." Greene was a well-known character actor, who would be forever known for his shocking role as Zed in 1994's Pulp Fiction. He also portrayed Dorian in The Mask that same year. "Nobody played a bad guy better than Peter," Edwards told NBC News on Saturday, December 13. "But he also had, you know, a gentle side that most people never saw, and a heart as big as gold." Edwards further revealed to NBC that a wellness check was eventually performed at Greene's place after neighbors said that they heard loud music playing for more than 24 hours. In the wake of Greene's unexpected death, several of his former acting colleagues as well as fans have offered up heartfelt tributes on social media. "I've had the pleasure of working with Peter Greene," actress Monique Dupree wrote via X. "He was so good at his craft, and he was kind to others. We had such a fun time on set. RIP." I Am the Icarus performer Daniel Godfrey, meanwhile, posted to X that Greene "totally stole every scene" in The Mask. Greene's acting credits extend well beyond Pulp Fiction and The Mask. "Clean Shaven is my favorite thing I ever did because I was immersed in a character who had troubles and you wanted to relay it," said Green during a 2022 appearance on the "The Up & Adam Show" podcast. "Remember when there's nothing to do, don't do anything and the camera picks up everything. If you're thinking, if you're sitting, remember when Chino was doing that scene on the phone. He was thinking and everything worked in his eyes." At press time, Us Weekly had not hear back from Greene's representative.
