I prayed for times like this.by Nora DominickBuzzFeed StaffFacebookPinterestLink This week in Screen Time, I sing the praises of Josh O'Connor in the new Knives Out movie. I also share what's all over my FYP, which includes The Pitt Season 2 trailer, and Steven Spielberg's long-awaited next film! There's also what we've got going on over on BuzzFeed Celeb's YouTube channel, and I share the ONE movie I would take to a desert island. So, let's get started! And if you're saying, "Hey! I love all of that stuff," then you can get Screen Time delivered directly to your inbox by subscribing here! Here's what the newsletter is covering this week: BuzzFeed Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery - watch for: Josh O'Connor as a hot priest John Wilson / Netflix Streaming on NetflixRian Johnson is back with the third installment in his beloved Knives Out franchise. This time, Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) arrives at a church after the sudden death of Monsignor Wicks (Josh Brolin). And, at the scene of the crime? A group of parishioners who all have secrets and an assistant pastor, Jud Duplenticy (Josh O'Connor), who is the prime suspect. This entry into the Knives Out universe was visually so beautiful, and it actually makes me mad that it wasn't shortlisted for an Oscar in cinematography. While this movie's characters were weaker than the previous films, O'Connor and Glenn Close were brilliant. They really carried the movie for me, which shouldn't be a surprise considering they are both scene-stealing icons in everything they do. Also, look out for one scene between O'Connor and Somebody Somewhere star Bridget Everett because it might be one of my favorite scenes of the year. Avatar: Fire and Ash - watch for: Visually stunning spectacle that needs to be seen on the big screen 20th Century Studios / Everett Collection In theaters nowThere are certain movies that should be legally required to be seen in a movie theater. James Cameron's Avatar movies fall into this category. The third installment in this blockbuster franchise, Avatar: Fire and Ash, is now in theaters, and it continues the story of Jake (Sam Worthington), Neytiri (Zoe SaldaƱa), and their family following the events of Avatar: The Way of Water. This time, Cameron expands the universe once again when Jake and Neytiri encounter an aggressive Na'vi tribe known as Mangkwan, aka the Ash People. When this new tribe aligns itself with Quaritch (Stephen Lang), more devastation rocks Pandora. While I think this is likely the weakest link in the franchise so far, it's still a visually stunning movie that's worth a trip to the movies. I actually rewatched the first two movies to prep for this one, so I am fully in Avatar mode and can't wait to see what Cameron cooks up next. Emily in Paris - watch for: The perfect Netflix binge-watch once again Caroline Dubois / Netflix Streaming on NetflixEmily (Lily Collins) is back in Paris, but also in Rome. That's right. Emily in Paris Season 5 kicks off with Emily, who is now the head of Agence Grateau Rome, dealing with new professional and romantic challenges as she tries to adapt to life in a new city. However, like previous seasons, just when everything is seemingly falling into place, a work idea backfires, and the fallout not only affects her job but her personal life as well. Once again, Emily in Paris is the perfect binge-watch. Like, no, this is not an award-worthy show, but it's exactly what you need from a fun rom-com show that you can watch all in one sitting. Alongside the returning cast, Emily in Paris also welcomes Bryan Greenberg, aka the love of my life, Jake Jagielski from One Tree Hill, as an American living in Paris, and Minnie Driver, who plays Princess Jane, a friend of Sylvie's (Philippine Leroy-Beaulier) who married into a royal family. I will be enjoying this season just as intended: on my couch with a glass of wine as I scroll on my phone, too. BuzzFeed My kids!! Percy Jackson and the Olympians is finally back with Season 2, so to celebrate, we had Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri play with puppies while answering a bunch of questions. They talk about what they've taken from set, their favorite behind-the-scenes memories, and more. But, most importantly, they talk about the actors they'd love to see as guest stars on potential future seasons. Like, Walker really wants Logan Lerman, aka the OG Percy Jackson, to play Percy's brother, Triton. BuzzFeed Celeb / Via youtube.com Meanwhile, Aryan wants Willem Dafoe to play Pan, and Leah is campaigning hard for Zendaya as Aphrodite. Honestly, someone put these kids in the casting department!
