Pete Davidson's girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, underwent an unexpected medical procedure within hours of becoming a mom. "Who else had to get a wisdom tooth removed directly from hospital the day after they gave birth?" Hewitt, 29, wrote via her Instagram Stories on Friday, December 19, sharing a selfie with gauze wrapped around her head. In the snap, Hewitt sat in the back of a car next to her baby girl in a black infant car seat. Hewitt and Davidson, 31, welcomed their first baby on December 12. "My best work yet, I am absolutely overflowing with love and gratitude and disbelief." The Saturday Night Live alum offered his own message in the caption succinctly stating, "Wu tang forever." Davidson and Hewitt, who have been together since March, named their daughter after Davidson's late father. (Pete's dad, Scott Davidson, was a firefighter who died in the line of duty during the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in New York City.) "My dad told me he was going to pick me up from school on 9/11. I got picked up by my mom," Pete, who was 7 years old when his dad died, recalled in a March 2023 episode of the "Real Ones" podcast. "She didn't tell me what was going on for, like, three days. She kept telling me, 'Dad's at work, coming home.'" He added, "I had no idea, and my mom was like, 'You're grounded, you're not allowed to watch TV.' I was, like, 'I didn't do anything.' Then, one night, I turned on the TV, and I just saw my dad on TV. I was like, 'Oh, OK,' and they're like, 'These are all the firemen that are dead.'" "They were finding people, pulling people out of s*** and there was some sort of hope. It was just up and down and nobody knew how to deal with it." In addition to Amy and Pete, Scott is also survived by daughter Casey Davidson. "I just remember laughing a lot, him being pretty jacked and [he] smoked a lot of cigarettes and driving a Subaru Impreza. That's all I remember [besides that he] always had a big smile on his face. ... I was really young, so I didn't even really know what the f*** happened. It hit me later, like, when I was in college. I was like, 'Oh, I'm pretty angry about this.' It'll show up more and more as I get older." The King of Staten Island star, who has long cited his father's death as his reason for wanting to become a dad himself, still holds his family memories close. "I actually have his wedding ring that I wear all the time," he said in September. "It's actually super f***ed up, but I have his chain [and] his badge. That's how they found [his body] and I have it. I just keep it in a safe 'cause with my luck I'll lose it. I have a couple of those things, and I have his fire jacket and another set of pants [that] I framed."
