Tubi and Teton Ridge Entertainment are partnering to release the documentary feature The Moment, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned. The project from directors Kristen Lappas and Sarah Springer will debut on the free streaming service as a Tubi Original in 2026. The Moment will feature archival footage and both classic and present-day milestones to tell the story of how women's basketball became the global phenomenon that it is today. The movie will focus on the historic and undefeated 2023-24 season for the South Carolina Gamecocks, led by coach Dawn Staley. Thomas Tull produces the project that hails from Teton Ridge Entertainment and Words and Pictures. Jillian Share, Josh Miller, Jonathan Hock, Libby Geist, Alexa Conway and Angela T. O'Neal executive produce, as does Connor Schell for Words and Pictures. "The Moment is exactly the kind of story we're proud to champion at Tubi, where culture, sport and storytelling collide," says Tubi senior vp of content acquisitions and partnerships Sam Harowitz. "This film spotlights Dawn Staley and the South Carolina Gamecocks' trailblazing journey, taking viewers on a deep dive honoring the pioneers, players, and defining moments that reshaped the landscape of women's basketball. We're thrilled to partner with Teton Ridge to bring this inspiring story to fans everywhere."
