Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts is getting a new facade, with President Donald J. Trump's name being added to the building Friday morning. Workers were seen applying Trump's name to the building Friday, with a blue tarp erected to cover the work until it is complete. The change to the facade comes just a day after Trump's handpicked Kennedy Center board voted to change the name of the venerable arts institution to the Trump-Kennedy Center. "The Kennedy Center Board of Trustees voted unanimously today to name the institution The Donald J. Trump and The John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts. The unanimous vote recognizes that the current Chairman saved the institution from financial ruin and physical destruction. The new Trump Kennedy Center reflects the unequivocal bipartisan support for America's cultural center for generations to come," Roma Daravi, the Kennedy Center's vice president of public relations, said in a statement. Senators Say That's Illegal Music Kennedy Center to Artists: Your Checks Are in the Mail Of course, members of President Kennedy's family and Democratic members of Congress have noted that the institution was established by Congress as a "living memorial" to the late president, and as such its name cannot be changed without congressional action. They said that a member of Congress who serves in an ex officio capacity on the Kennedy Center board had their line muted during the meeting. The Center is Washington's premier arts institution, hosting Broadway shows, concerts, operas, and the annual Kennedy Center Honors, which are awarded to people who made great contributions to arts and culture. Trump hosted this year's Kennedy Center Honors earlier this month, which will air on CBS next week. Sylvester Stallone, Kiss, Gloria Gaynor, Michael Crawford and George Strait were among the honorees. Workers begin adjusting the name of the "John F.
