Former Astronomer colleagues Kristin Cabot and Andy Byron remained in contact after their now-viral outing at a Coldplay concert. In Cabot's New York Times profile published on Thursday, December 18, the outlet reported that she and Byron, 51, had "been in touch all summer" and discussed updates about the company and their respective families. "Honestly, a lot of it was, like: 'Hi. It's 11 o'clock on a Tuesday. Any advice?'" Cabot, 53, told The Times, referring to the duo's new normal since their resignations in July. Cabot and Byron left their respective positions as Chief People Officer and Chief Executive Officer in the weeks following the viral scandal. (The pair, despite their marriages to other people, were spotted canoodling on a Jumbotron during a Coldplay concert this summer.) Coldplay Kiss Cam Woman Kristin Cabot Breaks Her Silence on Viral Scandal According to Cabot, she last met with Byron in September where they agreed that "speaking with each other was going to make it too hard for everyone to move on and heal." They've since had "minimal" communication. While speaking with the outlet, Cabot stressed that she never had an affair with her then-boss. "I made a bad decision and had a couple of High Noons and danced and acted inappropriately with my boss," she said. "It's not nothing, and I took accountability and I gave up my career for that. That's the price I chose to pay." Cabot continued, "I want my kids to know that you can make mistakes, and you can really screw up. But you don't have to be threatened to be killed for them." Kristin had quietly separated from her husband, Andrew Cabot, shortly before attending the Coldplay concert with Byron. Former Astronomer CPO Kristin Cabot's Relationship and Marriage History "I hadn't been out in ages," she said of inviting Byron to join her friends at the show. "I wanted to put a cute outfit on and go out and dance and laugh and have a great night, and that's how it was tracking." Kristin, however, wasn't thinking about what her date with Byron would mean from an HR perspective. "Some inside part of my brain might have been jumping up and down and waving its arms, saying, 'Don't do this,'" she said. "I was, like, 'I got this. I can have a crush. I can handle it.'" Kristin Cabot Files for Divorce After Coldplay Kiss Cam Scandal: Report As Kristin and Byron enjoyed the show, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin eventually highlighted the pair during his kiss cam segment. Cabot quickly buried her face in her hands, while Byron attempted to dodge the cameras. "[It felt like] someone flipped a switch," Kristin recalled to The Times. "I'll never be able to explain it in any articulate or intelligent way. I was so embarrassed and so horrified. I'm the head of HR and he's the CEO It's, like, so cliché and so bad. We both just sat there with our heads in our hands, like, 'What just happened?'" Kristin further explained that she and Byron immediately started discussing how to inform the Astronomer board of their outing. "Listen. We're human beings. We all make mistakes," Kristin recalled of the company's reaction to the drama. "We have to step away and talk about this and figure it out." Byron has not publicly addressed the scandal.
