Nick Reiner has appeared in court for the first time. On Wednesday, Nick appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom for a brief hearing in which his arraignment was pushed back to January 7. He remains in custody without bail. Nick was seated behind glass for the hearing, wearing a blue suicide-prevention smock, per the LA Times. He did not enter a plea yet. He argued it was "too early" to conduct the arraignment at this time. Nick spoke just three words during the hearing, per NBC News, telling the judge when asked if he waived his Constitutional right to "a speedy arraignment" to allow the continuance: "Yes, your honor." Alan addressed reporters outside the courtroom, claiming there are "very, very complex and serious issues that are associated with this case." He's facing two counts of first-degree murder with a special circumstance alleging multiple murders and a special allegation that he used a knife in the crime. If convicted, he's up for a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole - or even the death penalty. Nick, who has experienced mental health and addiction issues since he was a teenager, was first due in court on Tuesday, but it was postponed after he was not "medically cleared" to attend.
