Göransson earned three nominations for his work on Sinners, including a nomination for outstanding score for a studio film as well as two for outstanding original song for a dramatic or documentary visual media production with "I Lied to You" (co-written with Raphael Saadiq) and "Last Time (I Seen the Sun)," which he co-wrote with Alice Smith and Miles Caton. Schwartz got three nominations as well for Wicked: For Good, as he got the best score nomination alongside John Powell, and new songs "No Place Like Home" and "The Girl in the Bubble" were nominated for outstanding original song for a comedy or musical visual media production. The awards themselves will be hosted Feb. 6, 2026 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles with Kevin and Michael Bacon, who have their band The Bacon Brothers, hosting the ceremony. Göransson and Sinners director Ryan Coogler will also receive the SCL's Spirit of Collaboration award, an honor previously given to composers and directors including Martin Scorsese, Robbie Robertson, Thomas Newman, Sam Mendes, Terence Blanchard and Spike Lee, to name a few. Among the other nominees are Ed Sheeran, Blake Slatkin and John Mayer for the F1 track "Drive"; Ejae and Mark Sonnenblick for KPop Demon Hunters smash "Golden"' Jack Black for viral Minecraft Movie song "Steve's Lava Chicken; and Bryce Dessner for his Train Dreams score. Diane Warren continues her streak of receiving an SCL nomination every year since the awards were established, this year for her song "Dear Me" for the Warren Masterclass doc Relentless. All of the SCL's original score nominees were named to the shortlist for the original score Oscar this week, as were most of the songs for the original song categories.
