Nick Reiner has a big-name defense attorney in his corner following the deaths of Rob and Michele Reiner. As we previously reported, the 32-year-old was arrested and booked on murder charges after his parents were found stabbed to death in their Brentwood home on Sunday. He's currently being held without bail, and the hearing to determine the official charges was supposed to be on Tuesday. However, it did NOT happen! Why? He's not medically cleared for a court appearance yet, so they're taking it "day by day" for the hearing moving forward. And that bit of news comes from his new lawyer, Alan Jackson. Yep, the attorney confirmed it outside of the Los Angeles Superior Court that he is representing Nick. Related: Human Rights Campaign Pays Tribute To Rob Reiner Readers may recognize Jackson's name. He is a well-known criminal defense lawyer and a partner at the firm Werksman Jackson & Quinn LLP. Jackson has handled several high-profile cases in the past, like recently securing an acquittal for Karen Read, who was charged with murdering her police officer boyfriend in Massachusetts. He successfully prosecuted record producer Phil Spector for murdering actress Lana Clarkson in 2009. He also represented Kevin Spacey in his groping case in Massachusetts, which was ultimately dismissed when the accuser dropped their civil objection. His team even defended Harvey Weinstein in his criminal trial in California, but the film producer was convicted on rape charges and sentenced to 16 years in prison. In addition, he ran for Los Angeles District Attorney in 2012 - but did not come out victorious. It seems Nick will be putting up a fight with a lawyer like that on his side! What are your reactions?
