Michelle and Barack Obama were going to meet up with their friends Rob and Michele Reiner the night of their tragic murders. While guest starring on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show Monday night, Michelle took a moment to remember her late friends the day after their horrific deaths. Host Jimmy Kimmel asked the former First Lady about Rob and Michele, to which she said: "Oh my god. [Barack and I have] known them for many, many years. And we were supposed to see them that night - last night - and we got the news." So, so sad. We just can't imagine. What they have always been are passionate people. In a time when not a lot of courage is going on, they were the kind of people to put their actions behind what they cared about. And they cared about their family, they cared about this country, and they cared about fairness and equity. And that is the truth, I do know them." As classy as always, Michelle.
