Josh Allen is looking forward to fatherhood. Following the Buffalo Bills' 35-31 win over the New England Patriots on Sunday, December 14, Allen, 29, briefly spoke to reporters about the news that he and wife Hailee Steinfeld are expecting their first child together. "I've known for a long time, right? So it's not that crazy to me," he said. "But yeah, I mean, obviously the love that I've received from teammates and friends, it's a really cool special moment in my life. And my wife's life." Steinfeld, 29, initially shared the news via her Beau Society newsletter on Friday, December 12. "As I step into my 29th year as a softer, stronger version of myself, I want to appreciate some of my favorite moments from this year, both big and small," Steinfeld wrote before she began listing 29 things she is grateful for. Steinfeld and Allen have been together since May 2023 and announced their engagement in November 2024. "I was very nervous. I think I was most nervous about you finding out about the proposal," Allen later shared in a December 2024 issue of Steinfeld's "Beau Society" newsletter. "It was hard to keep secrets from you and have other people in your life keep secrets from you. Then, multiple times throughout the day a song would come on and I would tear up thinking about how special our day was going to be." I said, 'I can't wait to start a family with you,'" he added. "I said your full name, and I asked you very nicely. I said please." Allen continued, "You were extremely surprised, you said yes and that was all that mattered to me. And the sun was out. It feels unbelievable to be engaged to someone who is so special and loving and caring and gorgeous and fun and happy." In March 2025, a source close to the couple revealed exclusively to Us Weekly and said both Steinfeld and Allen were aligned about starting a family together. "They both are excited about starting a family and want that in the next few years," the insider revealed at the time. "They both share the same values when it comes to parenting and having kids." [I] don't really focus on the other stuff, that was the most important decision I'll make in my life, and I made the right one."
