Romy Reiner shared a glimpse into her relationship with her dad, Rob Reiner, just two weeks before he and her mother, Michele Singer Reiner, tragically died on Sunday, December 14. Romy, 28, took to Instagram on November 29 to share a handful of photos and videos of her and Rob swimming in the ocean during a tropical vacation. While the first video in the slide captured her swimming alone, she also uploaded playful photos of her and Rob together. Additionally, she shared a handful of photos of her submerged under water that her father likely took of her. She let the photos and videos speak for themselves by opting to not include a caption alongside the post. She also shared two solo selfies and a snapshot of her cuddling a dog before she showed support for her dad's 2025 film, Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, by sharing a photo of the movie's poster featured on a streaming service. "Go watch," she wrote over the photo. News broke late on Sunday night that Rob and Michele died inside their home in Los Angeles. Rob was 78 and Michele was 68 at the time of their deaths. "It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner," a spokesperson for the family confirmed in a statement to Variety. "We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time." Hamilton confirmed in a press conference that the LAPD "is currently conducting an ongoing homicide investigation into the two deaths at Rob Reiner's Brentwood home."
