Not everyone appreciates just how rare it is for a TV show to score 90 percent or higher on Rotten Tomatoes. Netflix has spoiled us a little because its lineup of series has been so strong. But in December, there were no new Netflix shows that hit the mark. Only a single returning Netflix series reached 90 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, so we included it here. Watch With Us' remaining two picks for the month may be below 90 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, but they both belong on this list. New on Netflix in December 2025 - The Full List of Movies and TV Shows 'Stranger Things' (2016 - Present) Rotten Tomatoes Score: 90 percent Since it's taken the better part of a decade to make five seasons of television, the kids of Stranger Things now look a little too old for their roles. But that's just the way teenagers looked in '80s movies when college-aged actors played them. Regardless, season 5 Vol. 1 has been well-received by fans of the show as the story winds up towards its conclusion. The alternate world known as the Upside Down is breaking through to Hawkins, Indiana in 1987, and the military has moved into town and quarantined. Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and her friends are the only ones who can keep Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) from unleashing Hell on their home. But they're running out of time to stop his ultimate plan. Stranger Things is streaming on Netflix. 'Victoria' (2016 - 2019) Rotten Tomatoes Score: 87 percent Before its recent debut on Netflix, Victoria was largely relegated to PBS or lesser-known streaming services. But this 19th-century drama about Queen Victoria (Jenna Coleman) is a nice companion series for Netflix's The Crown. At only 18, Victoria wAllisonas the youngest monarch in English history. That presented a lot of challenges for a queen who went on to reign for decades. 26 Must-Watch Drama Shows on Netflix Right Now (December 2025) The show may have taken some liberties with history by depicting Victoria as somewhat in love with her primary advisor, Lord Melbourne (Rufus Sewell), but TV shows thrive on that kind of drama. The series also depicts Victoria's romance with her future husband, Prince Albert (Tom Hughes), and the beginning of the Victorian era in England. Victoria is streaming on Netflix. 'The West Wing' (1999 - 2006) Rotten Tomatoes Score: 81 percent Long before the streaming age began, TV networks like NBC made big swings with prestige dramas like The West Wing. Aaron Sorkin created the series and wrote almost the entirety of the first four seasons by himself. The show followed the administration of President Jed Bartlet, as played by screen legend Martin Sheen. However, most of the focus fell on the people working in the Bartlet administration, including Sam Seaborn (Rob Lowe), C. J. Cregg (Allison Janney), Leo McGarry (John Spencer) and Toby Ziegler (Richard Schiff). Sorkin and his successors found new ways to make the inner workings of the White House dramatic, and the show famously had very quotable dialogue. It's considered to be one of the best TV best dramas ever made, despite the only good 81 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes. The West Wing is streaming on Netflix.
