Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer have teamed up with late Friends costar Matthew Perry's foundation to raise money for a good cause. "Exciting news! The cast has teamed up with @soundwaves_art and artist Tim Wakefield for a very special collection of artwork this holiday season," the Matthew Perry foundation announced via Instagram on Thursday, December 11. "Tim has transformed the actual soundwaves of the Friends theme song into these beautiful designs each inspired by a different character, and each cast member has autographed their own small run of artworks." Each abstract painting is named after the cast's iconic Friends character. The post included photos of Aniston, 56, Cox, 61, Kudrow, 62, LeBlanc, 58, and Schwimmer, 59, signing their art named after their roles. The nonprofit also shared that some portraits will also include Perry's signature. "And in collaboration with the estate of @mattyperry4 we have produced a very limited edition of artworks embossed with Matthew's official signature," the post continued. "All profits will be supporting charities chosen by the cast, including the @MatthewPerryFoundation and their work helping those struggling with the disease of addiction." Everything the 'Friends' Cast Has Said About the Death of Matthew Perry The artwork is available for purchase on the Sound Waves Art Foundation's website. Aniston, Cox, Kudrow, LeBlanc and Schwimmer starred in Friends alongside Perry for 10 seasons from 1994 to 2004. After the show wrapped up, the costars remained close. In October 2023, Perry died of an accidental overdose. The autopsy revealed that the actor's death was caused by "acute effects of ketamine." "We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just castmates. We are a family," the Friends cast said in a joint statement to Us Weekly at the time. "There is so much to say, but right now we're going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss. In time we will continue to say more, as and when we are able. For now our thoughts and our love are with Matty's family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world." Prior to his death, Perry was candid about his struggles with addiction and substance abuse. Perry's loved ones created the foundation in honor of the late actor to help others battling addiction. Aniston, Cox, Kudrow, LeBlanc and Schwimmer attended Perry's memorial service in Los Angeles alongside his loved ones. Jennifer Aniston Reveals 'Friends' Reunion Fate After Matthew Perry's Death Earlier this year, Aniston opened up about how it would be unimaginable for the Friends cast to do another reunion now that Perry is no longer here. (The cast reunited in 2021 for an HBO Max special titled Friends: The Reunion, where they revisited the set and looked back on filming the series. It was Perry's final onscreen appearance.) "It would be literally, physically impossible," she said of the cast doing a potential Friends revival or remake without Perry in an October interview with Harper's Bazaar. Aniston added that there was something magical about working with her costars. "There's something about the chemistry of the cast that made for a lightning-in-a-bottle moment," she reflected. "And that just happened to get caught on camera."
