Former University of Michigan head football coach Sherrone Moore allegedly displayed alarming behavior in front of his accuser shortly before his arrest. After Moore, 39, was informed by university athletic director Warde Manuel that he had been fired from his job on Wednesday, December 10 - citing an "inappropriate relationship" with a football staff member - Moore "barged his way into" the apartment of the woman in question. "[Moore] immediately then proceeded to a kitchen drawer, grabbed several butter knives and a pair of kitchen scissors and began to threaten his own life," Kati Rezmierski, first assistant prosecutor for Washtenaw County, said during an arraignment hearing on Friday, December 12. Moore allegedly told the woman, "I'm going to kill myself. I'm going to make you watch. My blood is on your hands. You ruined my life." When the woman told Moore that she was going to call the police, Moore fled the apartment. He was arrested shortly after at a local church and booked into the Washtenaw County Jail at 8:30 p.m., where he remained until his arraignment hearing on Friday afternoon. If convicted on all charges, Moore faces six years, 90 days in prison. The judge granted Moore's release on $25,000 bond on Friday, requiring him to wear a GPS tether, have no contact with the staff member and to continue with mental health treatment. In her statements in the courtroom on Friday, Rezmierski said Moore and the woman had a relationship for "years," which ended when she broke things off on Monday, December 8. The decision allegedly sent Moore into a tailspin, resulting in him sending "numerous texts from that time moving forward that she did not answer, did not respond to, did not want." In a separate 911 call on Wednesday afternoon, a woman at the residence belonging to the Michigan football staff member accused Moore of "attacking" her upon his arrival. Bacon said the woman fully cooperated with the school's investigation into her relationship with Moore and presented them with a host of "receipts." Bacon said the staffer showed "the text messages, the emails, documents and so on, laying out the details of their relationship and the conflicts thereof."
