The "Domino' vocalist claimed the Princess of Wales, who announced her remission in January, approached her to say, "Thank you, I know you've gone through a tough time."Jessie J, who got the all-clear in August after her own cancer diagnosis, replied, "'I know you have too. I just wanted to acknowledge that - mum to mum, cancer survivor to cancer survivor. I see you.'" _ Jessie J then asked Kate Middleton, "'Can I give you a hug?'" "'Of course, you can,'" the Grammy nominee recalled the mother of three telling her."I was briefed not to," Jessie, who shares son Sky with partner Chanan Safir Colman, admitted. "But I just saw a mum that has also gone through cancer publicly and I just wanted to give her a hug. I didn't see her as the Princess of Wales - well, obviously I did - but I saw a human being who's had to face the same storm. I'm grateful she received it in the way it was meant." It is not standard protocol to hug a member of the British royal family unless they initiate the contact. _ Kate Middleton opened up about her cancer journey during a visit to an Essex hospital. "You put on a sort of brave face. Then it's like, 'I can crack on, get back to normal,'" she said. "But actually, the phase afterwards is really difficult. You have to find your new normal and that takes time. It's a rollercoaster." _ In March 2024, Kate Middleton announced she was undergoing chemotherapy treatment for cancer. In January, the 43-year-old received a clean bill of health and returned to her royal duties during the Trooping the Colour in June. _ For her part, Jessie J underwent a mastectomy after being diagnosed with cancer in June. "This post is some of the honest lows and highs of the last 48 hours. I will always show the good and hard bits of any journey I go through," she wrote in an Instagram update. "Still hugging everyone going through something tough right now. We all got this!"
