Joe Scarnici / Getty Images In the clip, which was filmed at San Diego Comic-Con, star Finn Wolfhard - who was 14 at the time - was introduced by moderator and actor Patton Oswalt as "an actor born with the greatest porn name ever." In the clip, Finn replies, "Hey man, thanks! Really puts a great thing on my future." Both Joe and David could then be seen encouraging Finn to "ignore" Patton's comment, while giving the host a warning glare. Joe Scarnici / Getty Images Patton has since apologized for his comments, tweeting in 2017, "I thought I was being funny but was actually a graceless asshole. I've since apologized and, I hope, learned." This week, the clip resurfaced online and sparked renewed discourse around the way that the Stranger Things kids were treated. "this is fucked up," one person said. "soooo bizarre. even mentioning porn around a child that young is BIZARRE," another post read. Jason Laveris / Getty Images "it's honestly crazy how adults treated child stars just less than a decade ago, and even celebrities with literal children in general. how the fuck did adults get away with this," someone tweeted, while another simply added, "This is wild ngl." "He was so oversexualized, it actually makes me sick," someone wrote of Finn. "He was a child. It's no wonder that he's very private now and isn't as interactive with fans anymore. "Genuinely, Joe and David immediately being like 'hey! Fuck that guy! Ignore Patton Oswalt he's being really weird about you!' actually makes me really happy. Thank you to Joe and David for being normal about LITERAL CHILDREN," one person tweeted, while another fan wrote, "Joe & David reacting correctly."
