Grab your tissues, you're gonna need 'em for this. The first two episodes of Taylor Swift's new docuseries The End of an Era dropped on Disney+ Friday, and they packed an emotional punch. Amid the highs of discussing the best parts of the historic concert run, the singer heartbreakingly reeled over the devastating stabbing that killed three and the Vienna terror plot. Remember that clip of Taylor sobbing in the teaser earlier this week? It turns out she was brought to tears over the fatal stabbing at a Swift-themed dance and yoga class in Southport, England, in July that left three young fans dead. Speaking to cameras in her London hotel room before performing her first shows since her three canceled Vienna dates, she said: "I thought this would be a tour I would be proud of. It's like a force to be reckoned with in global culture. So, never in my life did I think we would have a terrorist plot." I don't know, like, I'm skating on thin ice or something. We've had a series of very violent, scary things happen to the tour. Like we dodged like a massacre situation, and so, I've just been kind of all over the place. There was this horrible attack in Liverpool at a Taylor Swift-themed dance party, and it was little kids that..." She got choked up before whispering: "I have a hard time explaining it." Oof. (c) Disney Plus While backstage ahead of her August 15th show, Taylor was seen trying to calm down, such as by listening to an audiobook, while experiencing "a physical reaction to [her] nerves." She told her just-as-antsy momma Andrea she was feeling "twitchy and fidgety" and trying to get her jitters out before the show, noting she just needed to "get back on the horse." She explained: "I've been performing for 20 years. From a mental standpoint, being like afraid that something's gonna happen to your fans at any moment, this is a new challenge. I want to keep all of the nerves I have away from the crowd because when you're sort of the ringleader of this show, they can sense any kind of shift energetically in you, and you have to really focus on that and factor that in, that you're at the Eras Tour, nothing's wrong." The Anti-Hero artist described it was feeling "like a pilot flying the plane" and not knowing if you can land - you wouldn't tell the whole plane the truth because everyone would "freak out." So, she was trying her best to get her emotions out before hitting the stage. In a confessional, she added of her tears: "I'm gonna meet some of these families tonight and put on a pop concert, you know? I'm not gonna do this. I'm gonna be smiling. So any of this gets out of the way before you ever go on stage." When her surprise guest of the night, Ed Sheeran, arrived, she told him: "I just need to do this show, remember the joy of it." She was also looking forward to a much-needed break after the London gigs: "I'm just gonna go somewhere no one can find me. I just don't want to be tracked like an animal. I just have felt very hunted lately." (c) Disney Plus Later, the 35-year-old was filmed breaking down in sobs after meeting with the families of children who were killed in the stabbing. Through the crying, her mother encouraged her: "I know you helped them. I know it doesn't seem like it, but I know you helped them." Gosh. So, so heartbreaking. And so much pain and responsibility for one person to feel. Sending Tay a big hug! Reactions, Perezcious readers? Let us know (below)!
