The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Sutton Stracke is setting the record straight on where her relationship stands with ex-husband Christian Stracke. "Our relationship is good. We met when we were 13. We were friends, and so we're ending up as friends now," Sutton, 54, exclusively shared with Us Weekly while promoting season 15 of Bravo's hit reality show on Tuesday, December 9. "It's good, but that's why this season was interesting for me because I have been through the well of divorce." During the season premiere, which aired on December 4, Sutton surprised some viewers when she revealed Christian had their marriage annulled in the eyes of the Catholic Church, when they'd already been divorced for nearly 10 years. When asked about his decision, Sutton simply told Us, "I guess that's just what he needed in the relationship." Messiest Bravo Breakups of All Time: RHOC's Meghan King and Jim Edmonds, More "It was a little bit of a sucker punch," she added. "But you know, you get used to things after the initial shock is over." Sutton's mother, Reba Brown, had a different reaction to Christian's post-divorce move. In the December 4 episode, she suggested the decision was a way to send the message that, "You don't matter." Sutton, however, disagreed and clarified that the annulment is just within the Catholic Church and all of the support remains unchanged. Sutton Stracke Nicole Weingart/Bravo "We did not renegotiate our divorce," she shared with Us. "I feel great, and I have a good relationship and my kids are great and happy. That's the most important part." This season, Sutton - who shares three adult children with Christian - will have a front-row seat as her costars Rachel Zoe, Dorit Kemsley and Kyle Richards navigate changing relationships with their spouses. While Sutton is proud to say she is "finally out of" the divorce stage, some of her cast members can't say the same. "To watch these women, personally, I was like, you know, it's going to take a long time for these women to kind of get all the way through the divorce," Sutton shared with Us, "and develop whatever relationship they have with their ex." Regardless of what her newly single costars are going through in season 15, Sutton is hopeful that they too can get to a good place with their exes. 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Season 15 Taglines Revealed While Christian currently lives in London, Sutton said she still communicates with him for major milestone events - especially related to the kids. "He sent our youngest to college, and we spent that weekend together, and we had a really great time," she told Bravo's The Daily Dish in an interview published Thursday. "Even after we got him to his dorm, we had drinks by ourselves, just to kind of talk about the future of our children and what we're gonna do there, and so we're still very much intertwined and always will be. I think we finally made it to the friendship part of divorce." The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Bravo Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET. Stream episodes the next day on Peacock.
