She will join the creative team in January and report to Farhana Bhula, director of Film4, alongside senior commissioning executive David Kimbangi. Kane joins Film4 from Mubi, where she has been serving as co-head of global acquisitions since 2020, acquiring such titles as Aftersun, The Substance, My Father's Shadow, and The Worst Person in the World. Prior to this, she was head of acquisitions at Curzon Film for nine years, where her work focused on such films as Parasite, 45 Years, and Force Majeure. Said Kane: "Having collaborated with Film4 for many years, I'm over the moon to now join Farhana's brilliant team and help build on their extraordinary slate. Film4 has always been the creative home for filmmakers that have inspired me, and I can't wait to champion both established and emerging voices for audiences everywhere." Film4's current production slate also includes Alice Birch's Sweetsick starring Cate Blanchett, Jonathan Schey's Everybody Wants to F*ck Me starring Taron Egerton, Andrew Haigh's A Long Winter, and Bijan Sheibani's The Arrival.
