Adding to the festive fervour of Malayalam cinema's Onam line-up, Balti, starring Shane Nigam, has locked its release date for August 29. Directed by newcomer Unni Sivalingam, the film is being touted as a high-octane sports action drama set in the kabaddi arena. It will now face stiff competition from two other major releases, Mohanlal's Hridayapoorvam and Fahadh Faasil's Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira, making this Onam a packed box office weekend for filmgoers.
