We have an update on Miss Jamaica after her terrifying fall from the Miss Universe stage. In case you didn't see, Dr. Gabrielle Henry was walking in the November 19 Miss Universe Preliminary Competition when she suddenly took a tumble THROUGH the stage, down to the pit. See the video for yourself (below): View this post on Instagram A post shared by The Great Pageant Community (R) (@tgpc_official) Horrifying!! Thankfully, she survived the fall, but was left with absolutely devastating injuries, as she was rushed to the ICU of a Bangkok hospital shortly after. This incident shook the entire pageant world, especially that of Miss Haiti AKA Melissa Sapini, who claimed to People on November 28 a pageant staff member called a meeting after Henry's fall and started BLAMING her for her own accident. She said at the time: "I don't know that they handled that correctly. The first thing he said was it's because she wasn't paying attention. After he said that, then he was like, 'Of course, safety is our number one priority' ... But it's like, 'Are you serious?' That was really scary." While the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) didn't comment on that directly, the host organization Miss Grand International (MGI)'s rep said "the incident occurred primarily because she missed her blocking and may not have been looking at the runway while walking," while continuing to deny that they placed any blame on Henry. Which... if they're supposedly saying SHE'S the one who wasn't paying attention... doesn't that sound like blame? We digress... In an update posted by the MUO on Monday, we got the wonderful news that Miss Jamaica will be returning home "in the coming days", and that she's in stable condition. In the press release, the org wrote about her injuries in depth, revealing she suffered a "intracranial hemorrhage with loss of consciousness, a fracture, facial lacerations and other significant injuries". OMG... Poor girl... The MUO also revealed they covered her finances for the hospital stay, her family's travel and stay in Thailand, and any other things she may need: "From the time the incident took place, the Miss Universe Organization has stood beside Gabrielle and her family as if she were their own, assuming full and immediate responsibility without hesitation. The Organization has covered all hospital, medical, and rehabilitation expenses in Thailand, as well as the accommodation and living costs for Dr. Henry's mother and sister, who have remained by her side throughout this difficult period. In addition, the Miss Universe Organization is funding the medically escorted repatriation flight arranged by the hospital and has committed to covering all future medical expenses arising from this incident." They said in their statement that Henry's family is "deeply grateful" for all of the financial assistance, compassion, and care the MUO has put out for their loved one. They also added that the "response so far has gone beyond professional responsibility and reflected devotion and protection of the family". The MUO also took a moment to refute those reports that they placed any blame on Henry for the incident, adding that she "confirms" that herself: "Certain media reports suggesting that Dr. Henry contributed in any way to the incident are entirely inaccurate. The Miss Universe Organization has never attributed blame to Dr Henry and confirms that those suggestions are unfounded and do not reflect the facts." Wrapping up, the statement said: "Dr. Henry and her family extend their heartfelt thanks to the people of Jamaica, the Miss Universe community, and supporters worldwide for the overwhelming outpouring of love, prayers, and encouragement." We're so glad to hear she's going to be okay and will be returning home soon! The co-owner of Miss Universe, Raúl Rocha, shared this statement to his Instagram, and wrote a heartfelt note in the caption, which reads: "Thank God our Miss Universe Jamaica prepares to return home, for all who were worried about her health, thank you very much for supporting us in your prayer chains, that from our silence we asked for the health and quick recovery of Doctor Gabrielle, Dear Miss Universe Jamaica, you represent our Organization in your country and we wish to carry out together as many needed beneficiaries projects there and you are our voice and our leader there." He also took a moment to share his faith, ending his statement with Bible scriptures toward "others" who "deceived with false information" - seemingly referencing the controversy about blaming Henry for her own fall: "For all those who from opportunism and media protagonism invented so many cruel and insensitive stories, let's continue to ask God to forgive them and help them find inner peace in their beings and transform that destructive hatred feeling they have towards others, into actions of well and that this is one more lesson to be evidenced that they deceived wit
