The drama, which is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Rufi Thorpe, stars Elle Fanning and Michelle Pfeiffer as mother and daughter. It was announced in October 2024 that Parks and Recreation star Nick Offerman also joined the series. He will play Jinx, Margo's dad. Nicole Kidman, Greg Kinnear, Michael Angarano, Thaddea Graham, Lindsey Normington, Marcia Gay Harden and Rico Nasty round out the cast. Here is the official synopsis: "A bold, heartwarming, and comedic family drama following recent college dropout and aspiring writer, Margo (Fanning), the daughter of an ex-Hooter's waitress (Pfeiffer) and ex-pro wrestler (Offerman), as she's forced to make her way with a new baby, a mounting pile of bills and a dwindling amount of ways to pay them." Kelley, who serves as showrunner and writer. He also executive produces alongside Elle Fanning, Dakota Fanning and Brittany Kahan Ward for Lewellen Pictures; Kidman and Per Saari of Blossom Films; and Matthew Tinker for David E. Kelley Productions. Pfeiffer, Thorpe, Eva Anderson and Boo Killebrew also exec produce. Dearbhla Walsh (Bad Sisters, The Handmaid's Tale) is directing the pilot in addition to exec producing. The series is also the most recent collaboration between Kelley and Apple TV, after following the Emmy Award-nominated drama, Presumed Innocent, which starred Jake Gyllenhaal. It is now in production on season two. Margo's Got Money Troubles debuts with three episodes on Apple TV Wednesday, April 15, 2026. New episodes will drop every Wednesday through May 20, 2026.
