He's best known for roles in turn-of-the-century fare like Scream and She's All That, but in recent years his performances in stuff like Twin Peaks: the Return and Good Girls has shown considerable range, which is to be respected. Savion Washington / Getty Images for Universal Pictures and Blumhouse One person who does not agree with me is legendary filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, who's been going viral for - what else? - his incendiary opinions about actors expressed on a recent episode of The Bret Easton Ellis Podcast. Gilbert Flores / WWD via Getty Images For what it's worth: Quentin and Bret are the textbook definition of "nightmare blunt rotation," regardless of what you think about their work. No thank you! Matthew caught a highly unnecessary stray while Quentin was talking about his favorite films of the 21st century thus far; while discussing his love for Paul Thomas Anderson's classic epic There Will Be Blood, QT trashed the film's star Paul Dano as "the weakest male actor in SAG" (which, whatever you say, lmao). Jacopo M. Raule / Getty Images for Belles Rives Group "I don't care for him, I don't care for Owen Wilson, and I don't care for Matthew Lillard," Quentin said. Damn, OK! That is definitely a "Why am I in it?" situation if there ever was one. Craig Barritt / Getty Images for ReedPop Well, Matthew recently appeared at GalaxyCon, and he directly addressed Quentin's comments while talking to what sounded like a very supportive crowd. @little_spooks we love you @Matthew lillard #fyp #matthewlillard #quentintarantino #galaxycon #storytime ♬ original sound - Spooky @little_spooks / Via tiktok.com "Quentin Tarantino this week said he didn't like me as an actor," he said, which led to the audience booing the sentiment. "Eh, whatever, who gives a shit," he replied. ROBYN BECK / AFP via Getty Images "It hurts your feelings," he eventually added. "It fuckin' sucks. And you wouldn't say that to Tom Cruise. You wouldn't say that to somebody who's a top-line actor in Hollywood." Ryan Emberley / Getty Images for RBC "I'm very popular in this room," he added. "I'm not very popular in Hollywood. Two totally different microcosms, right? And so, you know, it's humbling, and it hurts." Frazer Harrison / Getty Images Gotta say - refreshingly honest answer! At the very least, he comes off a little better than QT in this instance - but if you disagree with me, I'm sure I'll hear about it in the comments.
