King Charles III is wishing for a "special" Christmas, and the reason is a real tear-jerker! The 77-year-old has been battling an undisclosed form of cancer since he announced his diagnosis in February 2024. As he continues to fight this, he's also aware of his natural aging, and it's resulted in an urge to make the most of all his time. A source told Us Weekly on Thursday: "Charles prioritizes duty, but he's also a family man who knows his time is precious. He wants a special last Christmas in case it's his last." Oof. "His last." It's natural for someone his age and with health issues to be thinking like that, but how sad! That really gives you a whole new sense of the importance of family time and holidays. He will also be recording a Christmas speech, which airs later that day. The source insisted: "Nothing would stop Charles from doing that." The patriarch has always followed in his mother Queen Elizabeth II's footsteps by living with the understanding that one "has to be seen to be believed." So with that, "He will do everything expected of him and more." A second insider chimed in to point out that those in his inner circle are worried "his health isn't the best," despite the monarch saying otherwise earlier in the fall. The insider stressed, "They're taking it day by day." While there may be some complex feelings lingering this Christmas, it's also "a time for celebration" for Princess Catherine, who is cancer-free. She and her husband Prince William just moved into their "forever home" at Forest Lodge, too: "They all want to make the most of their time together. .... [They're looking forward to] creating memories in what they consider their forever home." That said, they're planning to be with Charles in Sandringham on the big day, and Kate Middleton's parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, will join in, too. With Charles thinking so much about his time coming to a close, we wonder if that'll prompt him to make more efforts to connect with Prince Harry this holiday season?? We'll have to wait and see.
