Police in Michigan have accused the mother and stepfather of a missing pregnant woman of torturing and killing her and her unborn child, according to prosecutors. Mom Rebecca Park, 22, was 38 weeks pregnant with her third child when she was last seen on November 3. But authorities have alleged Cortney Bartholomew, 40, and her husband, Bradly Bartholomew, 47, lured Park to their home in Boon the evening of November 3, and then "tortured Park in an attempt to remove the unborn infant, resulting in the death of both." A statement from the Wexford County Prosecutor's Office confirms that Park's body was found on November 25, dumped in an area of Manistee National Forest in South Branch. The Bartholomews were charged with single counts of first-degree murder, felony murder, torture, conspiracy to commit torture, assault on a pregnant individual causing miscarriage/stillbirth, and conspiracy to commit assault on a pregnant individual causing miscarriage/stillbirth. All six of those charges carry life sentences, according to a statement from prosecutors. Rebecca Park. In court on Tuesday, December 2, Wexford County Prosecutor Johanna Carey called the killing of Rebecca Park "evil personified," according to MLive.com. "These two individuals created a plan, conducted research. Mr. Bartholomew brought Rebecca to their home, they forced her into another vehicle and took her into the woods where they stabbed her, forced her to lie on the ground while they cut her baby out, and ultimately caused her death and the death of the baby," Carey said in court. "They then left Rebecca in the woods." Park's younger sister, Kimberly Park, 21, has also been arrested, along with her fiancé, Richard Falor, who is 43. Authorities have yet to detail the allegations against the couple, but PEOPLE reports that Kimberly has been arraigned on felony charges, including tampering with evidence, lying to a police officer, and filing a false report. Falor was arraigned on drug charges. The Bartholomews both pleaded not guilty to the charges against them and remain in custody without bond. Court officials have yet to set a date for the next hearing in this case. Plea information was not available for Kimberly or Falor. Kimberly is being held on $750,000 bond while Falon's was set at $1 million. It was unclear if any of the four defendants had retained an attorney for their defense who could comment on their behalf. Rebecca and her two siblings were raised by an adoptive mother, MLive.com reports. That same woman is said to be raising Rebecca's two other children, both toddlers, as well as a child belonging to Rebecca's younger sister. "Rebecca had everything to live for, and our hearts are with her loved ones as they endure this unthinkable loss," said Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, according to MLive.com. "We are committed to working alongside the Wexford County Prosecuting Attorney's Office to ensure justice is pursued in this tragic case without delay."
