What was Gwyneth Paltrow thinking?!? During an episode of The Run-Through with Vogue podcast on Tuesday, the 53-year-old actress shared a super awkward moment she had with Timothée Chalamet on the set of Marty Supreme. If you don't know, the actor is playing Marty Mauser, a character based on 1950s table tennis champion Marty Reisman, in the ping pong drama. The role required Timmy to sit in the makeup chair and get fake acne scars on his face. Gwyneth said on the podcast: "In 'Marty Supreme,' Timothée has pockmarks, and they made his eyes beady with contacts and glasses, and it's all makeup." And when Timothée commented on his appearance during filming, the Goop founder decided to chime in with some unsolicited skincare advice! She recalled: "I was like, 'Oh, you know, you can do microneedling for that.'" OMG! Gwyn! Now, we're not sure what Timmy T's original comment was, but just FYI, it's pretty much a faux pas to try and give unsolicited advice for someone else's skin! According to Gwyneth, the Call Me By Your Name alum quickly corrected her: "And he's like, 'This is makeup!' I was like, 'Oh, s**t.' I didn't realize. The makeup was so good that I thought he had little acne scars." The makeup department did a great job then if they fooled the Shakespeare in Love star. Gwyneth insisted Timothée actually has "beautiful skin" in real life, adding: "His skin in real life, you're like, 'Oh my gosh.'" The mom of two then pointed out that she has "never done anything like that where I'm really transformed in the face." Fans may disagree, though. She wore a fat suit and prosthetics to transform herself into a plus-size woman in the 2001 movie Shallow Hal, when she didn't use a stunt double. That aside, what an awkward on-set interaction between the co-stars. Yeesh. Hopefully, it will make Gwyneth think twice before commenting on someone's acne in the future. Just because she is the queen of Goop doesn't mean everyone wants her tips and tricks on skincare. What are your thoughts, Perezcious readers? Let us know in the comments!
