[Warning: Potentially Triggering Content] The story unfolding out of Big Stone Gap, Virginia is growing more surreal by the day. The disappearance of locally famous high school football coach Travis Turner has collided with a series of shocking criminal allegations, and now, there's a financial reward out for his capture amid reports he walked off into a dense and very rural forest alone - and with a gun. Whoa... As we've been reporting, Turner is a well-known figure in local sports circles in far southwestern Virginia and the coach of Union High School's powerhouse football team. But he vanished on November 20 amid reports that he was being investigated on potential child pornography charges. But the most haunting update on this timeline now comes from Turner's own family, who shared through their attorney that their final contact with the 46-year-old came just before he walked into the woods near his home carrying a firearm. The attorney, Adrian Collins, stated to multiple local media outlets: "His last known contact [with his family] was on or about Thursday, November 20, after he left his residence to walk in the woods with a firearm." Collins continued: "He is believed to have entered a heavily wooded and mountainous area." Complicating everything is the fact that, at the time Turner disappeared, there was not yet a warrant out for his arrest. His wife Leslie Caudill Turner (pictured above, inset) reported him missing later that night, but police told her she would need to wait at least 24 hours before filing an official report. According to Collins, she did so the next day. And the family has been fully cooperating with law enforcement ever since. As the attorney added: "She was advised that a missing-person report could not be taken until at least 24 hours had passed. The following day, she filed a missing-person report with the Virginia State Police. The family has cooperated fully with law enforcement in their ongoing efforts to locate Travis." Since then, the situation has escalated. Cops have now officially obtained ten warrants for Turner: five counts of possession of child pornography and five counts of using a computer to solicit a minor. The moment those charges became public, the search for Turner shifted into a full-scale fugitive investigation, complete with drones, K9 units, and search-and-rescue teams combing the rugged terrain. Plus, per ABC News on Monday, Virginia law enforcement officials and the US Marshals Service have now set up a $5,000 reward that is up for grabs for anyone who has information leading to his arrest. Oh, and also, Turner vanished just two days before his undefeated team was set to compete in the state playoffs. Union High has since marched through three postseason victories and is headed to the state semifinal game this Saturday. If they win, they are off to the state championship.
