Dylan Efron went through a physical transformation during his time on Dancing With the Stars season 34. "Probably TMI but I'm fascinated with this stuff," Efron, 33, wrote via his Instagram Stories as he shared a video of himself stepping on a scale on Tuesday, December 2. "I weighed around 175-178 lbs. (80kg-ish) at the start of DWTS. By week 3, I went down to 170, they had to take in my waist on my pants ... a lot of cardio and wasn't eating." Efron revealed that a change in his diet helped him gain the weight back - and then some. "By the end of the show, my pant size was back to normal and I felt stronger. I gained about 15-20 Ibs during the season, biggest thing I changed was eating more protein ... protein shake every night and just more meat," he explained, adding that he feels "so much stronger than before." Efron and dance partner Daniella Karagach made it all the way to the DWTS season 34 finale on November 25. The pair performed three dances - an unlearned dance selected and coached by the judges, an instant dance and a freestyle - in the hopes of gaining America's votes. Efron and Karagach, 32, ultimately came in fourth place, with Robert Irwin and partner Witney Carson taking home the coveted mirrorball trophy. (Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovsky came in second place, while Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa came in third. Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten came in fifth.) During the finale, Dylan also gave a sweet shoutout to his older brother, Zac Efron. "My whole life, I watched my brother perform," the Traitors star said in a pretaped package. "I never wanted to be in the spotlight, and the fact that I can step out onstage and capture people's attention truly gives me chills. I finally feel like I belong here." The shoutout came days after Zac, 38, supported his brother, along with their little sister, Olivia, during the November 18 semifinals. I grew up watching him do stuff like this," Dylan told Entertainment Tonight of the High School Musical alum's appearance. "Looking over, my family's there, my girlfriend. Just seeing all of them together, that's my support." In an interview with People published on November 26, Dylan said DWTS opened him up to a new experience. "I think I did something I never thought I would or could, and I think that's what I'm feeling is I easily could have gone my whole life without ever experiencing this, and I'm so happy I did," he said. "I'm so happy Dani was my partner. I wouldn't have changed a single thing."
