Emma Heming doesn't care what the critics say. She fully stands by her decisions when it comes to Bruce Willis' care amid his dementia battle. Back in August, the former model revealed to Diane Sawyer that the Die Hard actor moved out of their family home. Emma explained she thought Bruce should live in a quiet one-story home nearby, as he requires around-the-clock care as the disease progresses. Not only that, but she knew he would want their daughters, Mabel and Evelyn, in "a home that was more tailored to their needs, not his needs." It was the "hardest" but best decision she made as a caregiver for their family so far. However, Emma faced a lot of backlash over her choice online. The entrepreneur defended herself afterward at the time, and she did so once again during an emotional panel at the End Well 2025 conference. These are hard decisions. These are impossible, I'm getting choked up thinking about it. They're impossible decisions. This is not how I envisioned our life." So sad. We can't imagine. Still, despite the decisions being incredibly difficult to make, the CocoBaba founder is confident in them. She says she doesn't regret the move because now their family is "thriving" more than ever before: "This is the best decision for our family. It was the safest one, and our family is now, in essence, thriving. People don't realize all the needs that go unmet behind closed doors, and now our children's needs are met. They are in a home where they can have play dates and sleepovers, these things that we don't even think about. Their world is completely opened up, and so has my husband's." Great to hear! While fans took issue with her decision, Emma shared that their loved ones are fully on board: "So I had to make the best and safest decision for our family and and I knew by being honest and open about it that it would be met with a lot of judgment. And what's interesting about it is that the judgment comes from the outside, it doesn't come from our family." More than anyone else, they get it. Emma explained they see what's going on behind closed doors: "Because they know, they're in it, and I've got this beautiful blended family, but I also have Bruce's mother, who is in her 90s. I have Bruce's brother and sister and cousins, and they have been so loving and supportive and nonjudgmental." Bruce's wife knew she would receive criticism from outside of the family, though. In fact, she even prepared herself for it and went to therapy before revealing the new arrangement: "I knew that when I revealed or talked about what is our arrangement, that it would be met with so much criticism and judgment and I did a lot of therapy around that to like get myself ready." A smart move! Ultimately, Emma pointed out that fans "don't get a say" in what happens in her or Bruce's life since they aren't around all the time: "It was interesting to see how much judgment and criticism, about how what a terrible person I am and how could I do this. But you know what I say is that if you are not on the front lines of this, in that person's house day in, day out, 24/7, 365 days a year - then you don't get a say and you don't get a vote." Well said. Emma had to do what was best for Bruce and their family, and everyone should respect that and have more compassion. What are your reactions to her comments, Perezcious readers?
