[Warning: Potentially Triggering Content] Tragedy has struck Texas A&M. Over the weekend, sophomore Brianna Aguilera was found dead, and now her mother is seeking answers. According to local outlet KBTX, Brianna died at a student apartment complex near the university just hours after attending a tailgate party on Friday night. Her death occurred on Saturday morning, just before 1 a.m., per the Austin Police Department. Her cause of death has not been confirmed and will be investigated by the Travis County Medical Examiner. That said, it seems the police believe the student died by suicide. But is that the full story?? Related: Full House's Dave Coulier Diagnosed With NEW Cancer On Monday, Brianna's mother Stephanie Rodriguez told KSAT that investigators from the police department have been giving her inconsistent answers about what happened. Insisting her child wasn't suicidal, the grieving mother explained she was a 19-year-old looking forward to becoming a lawyer after graduation. So, what does she think happened?? Well, the mother recalled calling the police after the football game on Friday night because her daughter wasn't answering her phone. She could see the device was in Austin. Unfortunately, there was nothing the cops could do - she needed to wait 24 hours before filing a missing persons report. Officers later discovered Brianna's phone on Saturday, though they did not inform Stephanie that her child was in the morgue until 4 p.m. that day. Her body had been discovered by a good Samaritan around 1 a.m. that morning, and Stephanie said a detective told her she had fallen 17 floors. Heartbreaking. But the mother believes there's more to the story: "There are a lot of inconsistencies with the story. He told me they said she jumped, and then he told me that the friends said they didn't know her whereabouts." The parent claimed there were 15 people inside the apartment at the time, and she's convinced someone knows what really happened: "There was a fight that happened between my daughter and another girl, and they were all staying in the same apartment that I have actual text messages of, and the detective just disregarded them." Wait, does she think someone did this on purpose?! We'd be demanding answers, too! In a preliminary report out on Monday, Austin PD said the death is not currently being investigated as a homicide because no suspicious details have emerged in the investigation so far. When KSAT contacted Texas A&M, a spokesperson said the school "does not have a statement to share at this time." In the meantime, a GoFundMe page has been set up to help raise money for Brianna's funeral services. It's already doubled it's goal with over $31k raised. The description reads: "It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, and cousin, Brianna Aguilera. Brianna graduated from United High School in Laredo, TX where she was a seasoned cheerleader and received honors of Magna Cum Lade. She was pursuing her dream of becoming a lawyer and was attending The Bush School of Government & Public Service at Texas A&M, her dream was to always be an AGGIE! She was a year shy of attaining her Aggie ring." It noted: "On Friday, November 28, 2025, Brianna attended the UT vs. Texas A&M tailgate with friends at Austin. The details surrounding what happened next remain unclear, and her mother is still awaiting answers." The statement concluded: "Our hearts are shattered. In an effort to ease the financial burden on Brianna's mother and loved ones during this unimaginable time, we are asking family, friends, and all who knew or knew of Bri to consider offering a donation. If you are unable to give, we humbly ask that you keep Brianna and her family in your thoughts and prayers." Stephanie also shared a message to supporters, expressing how grateful she is for the "love and support," writing: "The unexpected loss of my brie brie has been a tremendous challenge, but I find strength in the outpouring of kindness. I've experienced every parent's worst fear, but I'm comforted by the knowledge that my brie brie touched so many hearts." She continued: "I thank you all for every word and emotion you have shared towards my brie brie..... she adored each and every one of you, and although my princess is in a brighter realm, I take solace in the memories we created together. Thank you all for loving brie always and forever !!! My baby angel and princess is with God, and I find peace in that truth ! Thank you all, and I will notify you of her services, as I know that's how my brie brie would have wanted it!" You can donate HERE. Our hearts go out to Stephanie and all of Brianna's loved ones. So very devastating. We hope they get the answers they deserve to help them get closure as they grieve this untimely loss.
