First, just like the start of every other season, Stranger Things Season 5 begins with Mike being late. In this season, he's late for breakfast. In previous seasons, his Dungeons & Dragons game ran long, he forgot to find money for the arcade, he was late for a movie at the Starcourt Mall, and he was late for school because he was reading a letter from Eleven. Netflix 2. Not only is Dustin wearing his Hellfire Club shirt, but he's also wearing one of Eddie's rings. Netflix 3. And, while sitting in the cafeteria in Season 5, Episode 1, Dustin is sitting in the same spot that Eddie did in the first episode of Season 4. Netflix 4. The phone number of Eleven's missing teen poster is real, and if you call it, you get a recording from the Hawkins Police Department. The message states that Hawkins is currently under lockdown due to the recent earthquake, and the Hawkins Emergency Task Force is collaborating with the police to locate Jane Hopper, which is a top priority. Netflix 5. Lt. Robert Akers is played by Alex Breaux, who currently stars as Dr. Martin Brenner in Stranger Things: The First Shadow on Broadway. Netflix 6. The outfit that Eleven wears to train in is reminiscent of Josh Brolin's memorable look while he works out in The Goonies (1985). Netflix / Warner Bros 7. Holly's teacher, Mrs. Harris, is played by Hope Hynes Love. She was the creators Ross and Matt Duffer's high school drama teacher. In an Instagram post, Ross wrote, "High school was rough for me and my brother. But Hope saw something in us we didn't see in ourselves - and she helped give us the confidence to not only survive those four years, but to move to LA and chase our dreams. Shoutout to all the teachers out there making a difference. And please... let's prioritize the arts in schools. ✌️" Netflix In Season 5, Episode 2, Robin also asks Will if he did a mandala in Mrs. Harris's class in fifth grade, meaning they've all had her as a teacher. 8. When Mike gives Holly a DnD figurine named "Holly the Heroic," he mentions that she's a cleric who can cast a dimension door. In DnD, it's a fourth-level spell that can teleport you from your current location to any other spot within range. You arrive exactly at your desired spot, which can be a place you can see, one you visualize, or one you describe by saying the direction and distance. Netflix There has to be a reason later on in the season where this comes in handy, especially because Holly agrees that Mr. Whatsit, aka Vecna, can't do it. 9. When Robin goes to the hospital to tell Vickie she's going to have to cancel their date, Robin says a good friend told her "bad news first, always." In Season 4, Eddie tells Dustin he wants the bad news first, and Dustin tells him the police think he killed Chrissy. Netflix 10. And then, to make it up to her, Robin tells Vickie she booked a table at Enzo's for a makeup date. Of course, Hopper asks Joyce out on a first date to Enzo's in Season 3. However, Joyce accidentally stands him up, and they never get to Enzo's after Hopper seemingly dies in the Season 3 finale. Netflix 11. When Dustin goes to Eddie's grave, you can also spot Barb's grave. Netflix 12. In Holly's bedroom, you can see a poster and pillowcase featuring Rainbow Brite. Rainbow Brite was an animated kids' series that began in 1984. Notably, in the show's TV special, titled "Peril in the Pits," Rainbow Brite, a cheerful little girl, gets taken to an underground world called "the Pits." This all foreshadows Holly's time in the Upside Down. Netflix Holly also has a poster for Steven Spielberg's An American Tail on her wall. 13. Holly's connection to Vecna and the Upside Down has been hinted at in previous Stranger Things seasons. In Season 1, she followed the lights and saw the demogorgon trying to emerge from a wall at Joyce's house. Then, in Season 3, she noticed the trees moving at the Fourth of July carnival, when the Mind Flayer was hunting down Eleven and the rest of the group. Netflix Season 5, Episode 2, when Holly is taken by a demogorgon, is titled, "The Vanishing of Holly Wheeler," which is a nod to the very first episode of the series: "The Vanishing of Will Byers." 14. When Nancy is washing the blood off her hands at the hospital in Episode 2, the moment is shot similarly to other moments featuring Nancy in previous seasons, where we watch part of the scene unfold through Nancy's reflection. Netflix 15. On the glove box in the WSQK van, you can see a large bumper sti
