Irish influencer Niamh Cullen is navigating the heart-wrenching grief of her husband Jamie Gill's tragic death at age 33. "Why you, why us 💔," Cullen, 33, wrote via her Instagram Stories on Sunday, November 30, sharing a collage of throwback photos of the couple. "All [we] did was have so much fun and adored one another. I feel empty." Cullen announced one day earlier that Gill, her husband of exactly one year, had died after a battle with cancer. "The unimaginable has happened. Our worst nightmare. My beautiful husband has been taken from us. The light of my life," Cullen wrote via Instagram on Saturday, November 29. "I was the luckiest to be loved and adored by you, Jamie. I love you endlessly, not just now, but eternally." Influencer Niamh Cullen and Late Husband Jamie Gill's Relationship Timeline Cullen and Gill got married in November 2024, just days before he was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer. "Last weekend marked one year of our marriage. Nothing could have prepared us for the journey that was ahead," Cullen wrote via her Instagram earlier in November. "On day 3 of our wedding, Jamie became seriously unwell. What was meant to be a minimoon in Rome turned into 10 days in hospital." She added, "Our world shattered in an instant, but we stayed strong. Jamie bravely faced 10 rounds of chemotherapy. There were ups and downs along the way, but nothing could have prepared us for what followed after his 10th session." After completing his treatment, Gill was hospitalized with pneumonia and sepsis earlier this year, at which point, doctors discovered his cancer had returned. "He never ceases to amaze me with his incredible positive outlook and mindset, even in the darkest moments. It's been unimaginably tough seeing the person you love suffer and to feel so helpless. I get these waves of guilt daily because all I want to do is just swap places or take it away, but I can't." She concluded, "My husband is my inspiration, my hero and I love [being his wife] so much. In sickness and in health I know and pray that positive things are coming. They have to be, you deeply deserve it. Thanks for the support and patience. It's been the most difficult time as newlyweds." Cullen and Gill had been together since 2018, celebrating their first wedding anniversary just weeks before his death. "I can't believe it's already our one-year wedding anniversary. I was too emotional over the weekend to even look through our photos or think about posting," Cullen wrote via Instagram on November 10. "Happy anniversary to my amazing, brave, and resilient husband. You make my world a better place." Influencer Deaths of 2025: Karen Sofia Quiroz Ramirez and More Stars We've Lost In light of Gill's death, several of the couple's loved ones have shared their condolences via social media. "It doesn't feel real that @niamhcullenx has lost her partner in crime/love," one Instagram user wrote. "They made each other shine and sparkle, and you could see the safety and joy their relationship created for each other. A true tragedy." Another, meanwhile, called footage of Gill and Cullen dancing at their wedding reception a "core memory." "I knew when this moment was happening that it was always gonna be a core memory for me," Cullen's "Unveiled" cohost, Nessa Morrissey, wrote via her Instagram Stories. "Now, it will be more than ever."
