In October, Taylor explained on The Tonight Show that Ed "doesn't have a phone," so it makes keeping up and sharing life updates difficult: "When I'm going through [my contacts, deciding] who we should call, who we should FaceTime, I'm going through my texts and being, like, 'Who have I texted within the last month of my life?' And he just wasn't there." She also shut down any feud rumors, reassuring fans The Shape of You singer is "like family" and one of her "favorite people on the planet." So, what did their conversation about her exciting news look like when it finally happened?? Ed sat down for an interview with Access Hollywood, which was shared on YouTube over the weekend, and opened up about staying in touch despite their busy schedules: "My way of viewing it is like, me and Taylor are mates, and I will see her. And I saw her a week after that happened. So I did that [SiriusXM] interview and then I saw her and you talk in person. I kind of feel like being in touch with everyone - sort of - you lose actual human connection." And when they DID see each other, it was game on! The Thinking Out Loud singer added: "When I saw Taylor, we had like a four-hour catch-up and it's life stuff, rather than ... you know what I mean." Awww! We love hearing that! On their friendship, UK native noted: "I'm not self-conscious about my relationship with her. We've been friends for very, very many years. We're super close and we see each other when we see each other. When we see each other, we lock back into where we left off." Those can sometimes be the best kinds of friendships!
