As Lindsay Dewey and husband Eric Dewey near one year without their son Reed, she revealed their sad reality is anything but "normal." "Grief realized. Physical reminders, sometimes daily, of his absence in our home and in everyday life," Lindsay, 31, captioned a Tuesday, November 25, Instagram video of reminders of her late son she can't stop seeing, including his name up in their playroom and an unused holiday-themed sippy cup she'd bought. She continued, "Simple things around the house that I notice. Reed things. Reminders that this is our reality. Having to accept the fact that he doesn't live here with us anymore." "It's been 9.5 months of coping, of moving forward with our 'normal'. But the truth is, nothing is really normal anymore," Lindsay confessed. "We've just adjusted to our new circumstances and I'd say we've done a pretty dang good job at that, as hard as it is and will be. Reed was here. He filled our home with so much joy. And we hold onto that." Parenting Influencer Sometimes Wonders If Late Son Was 'Ever Here' The parenting influencer, whose youngest son died in February at 22 months, noted that moving forward doesn't mean she knows why Reed was taken from them. "I don't accept the fact that 'this was supposed to happen'... I accept the fact that we aren't supposed to understand why this happened," Lindsay continued. "I accept the fact that we serve an all-knowing God, and so there must be a reason why Reed's life had to be done here." Lindsay Dewey with son Reed. The video included Lindsay moving Reed's name to a different part of her son Hunter's room, realizing it was no longer "their room" but "his room." (In addition to Reed, Lindsay and Eric share daughter Breegan, 6, and son Hunter, 4.) She recalled finding an unused Jack-o-lantern bucket that had Reed's name on the bottom and seeing his crib empty. Influencer Lizzie Kieffer Shares Video Filmed Days Before Daughter Died Lindsay's post comes nearly one year after she and Eric announced the death of their youngest child in February. After an unsecured mirror fell on top of Reed, Lindsay asked her followers to help their family get a "miracle" to save her son's life. Days later, Lindsay revealed via Instagram that Reed "did not receive his earthly miracle" and died at 22 months. "We are beyond shattered. But I can't help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for getting to be his mama for 22 months," Lindsay wrote via Instagram at the time. "All he knew was love. And all he gave was love. Truly. And those who are close to us, can attest to that." Since the traumatic loss, Lindsay has kept her followers in the loop on her grief and the ups and downs she's faced. Influencer Deaths of 2025: Jan Zimmermann and More Stars We've Lost Earlier this month, Lindsay celebrated the fact that she and Eric, 38, have remained committed to their marriage despite suffering an unimaginable heartbreak. "A lot of marriages crumble after enduring child loss," she shared via Instagram on November 7 alongside a photo with her spouse. "It's something that you hear about from time to time and it's devastating." Lindsay noted, "God has granted us both mercy and grace to get through this hurdle that life has brought upon us. Though we handle our grief differently, and sometimes separately, I'm still so grateful to have him by my side." She reminded her followers, "If there were no love, there would be no grief ... and though it breaks us, it is also the greatest reminder that we were lucky enough to love someone worth missing forever."
