Watch: Jenny McCarthy & Ken Jeong Tease "Masked Singer" FinaleJenny McCarthy is cherishing every moment after a difficult health scare. The Masked Singer judge revealed she's on the mend after suffering several infections from a failed dental implant. "I've had nine surgeries this year, on my mouth," Jenny, 53, told People in an interview published Nov. 26. "I had one infection that turned into another and another, and then I had these growths show up on my eyeballs." While the Scary Movie alum-who shares son Evan Joseph, 23, with ex-husband John Asher-didn't reveal when she had the operation, she noted her symptoms worsened as she tried to heal the swollen growths. "My teeth were falling out, implants falling out," she explained. "They finally had to dig into my jawbone and found I had a deep bone infection. I've been on antibiotics for a year, and have had to eat soft foods only. Every time we thought it had cleared up, it came back again. I'd be in massive pain with my jaw swelling up."readInside Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg's Unexpected Love StoryBut after months of dealing with recurring infections, Jenny confirmed that she's now "able to chew again." And as the model continues to recover from this troubling scare, she's focused on making memories with her husband Donnie Wahlberg. Indeed, Jenny shared that while she and the 56-year-old-who is dad to sons Xavier, 31, and Elijah, 23, from a previous marriage-want to spend Thanksgiving together, their busy schedules are making their plans "a little tricky-wicky." "I've been shooting The Masked Singer in Los Angeles, he's been in Canada with Boston Blue," she explained. "So it's been difficult, which means Thanksgiving and Christmas will mean more to us than ever this year. It's just me and him, at home in Chicago, me cooking a bird, and enjoying each other."Jeff Speer/Icon Sportswire via Getty ImagesThis isn't the first time Jenny's health has hit a roadblock. Earlier this year, she revealed that she "became ill" when she tried to do a vegan diet. "I tried vegan and I almost died," McCarthy, 52, said during her appearance on Maria Menounos' Heal Squad podcast in March. "I was exhausted and fatigued. I was a mess." Not only did the plant-based diet trigger her celiac disease-an autoimmune condition that prevents her from being able to digest gluten-to flare up, she also felt uncomfortable with eating a smaller amount of calories. Her doctor then suggested that she go "full carnivore," and once Jenny started to consume more "meat, eggs and seafood," she felt energetic again. "Some people work [and] heal better on a vegan diet and some people don't," she explained. "It's what you believe and you have to follow your intuition and then also follow what your blood says or what your body says. Your body will let you know."
