The Real Housewives of New York alum Leah McSweeney has resolved a massive tax bill partly stemming from her time on the reality show, Us Weekly can exclusively report. Us obtained a federal tax lien filed by the Internal Revenue Service on March 11 in New York. The lien accuses McSweeney, 43, of owing taxes for 2018 ($23,544.04), 2021 ($30,017.51) and 2022 ($20,437.45). The IRS lien demanded that McSweeney pay a total of $73,999. (McSweeney joined RHONY in season 12 in 2020. She returned for season 13 in 2021, but the show was completely recast for season 14.) A spokesman for Leah tells Us the issue was resolved. Per TMZ, McSweeney was paid $3,000 per episode for her first season for around $60,000 in total. She hired a team and demanded a salary increase for her second season, per TMZ. Page Six reported she secured a bump to $10,000 per episode after negotiations. Every Real Housewife Defending Andy Cohen After Leah McSweeney's Lawsuit McSweeney has had past issues with the IRS. In December 2018, the former reality star was hit with a federal tax lien over a $17,778 bill for the years 2014, 2016 and 2017. The lien was released in January 2025, months before the new lien was filed. McSweeney is not the only Bravo star who has faced issues with the IRS. Several other Housewives, and many celebrities have faced tax issues in the past. The tax drama comes as McSweeney continues to battle Andy Cohen and Bravo in court over alleged discrimination. Leah McSweeney Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images for Gabrielle's Angel Foundation As Us previously reported, McSweeney claimed in a federal lawsuit that RHONY producers and Bravo pressured her to drink despite her informing them she had been sober. "[Cohen] engaged in cocaine use with 'Housewives' and other Bravolebrities that he employs" and "rewards Housewives with whom he uses cocaine with more favorable treatment and edits," the lawsuit alleged. "The claims against Andy are completely false," a rep for Cohen said. McSweeney claimed Bravo had a "rotted workplace culture that uniquely depended on pressuring its employees to consume alcohol." A Bravo spokesperson said on May 9, 2024, that an outside investigation into McSweeney's allegations found the claims to be "unsubstantiated." At the time, in response to the outcome of Bravo's outside investigation, McSweeney's lawyer Gary Adelman said, "This is perfect timing. One line so they can repeat it to all the advertisers at the upfronts." Adelman added, "We look forward to reviewing all of the interviews, evidence and final reports of the investigation that [NBCUniversal] conducted, when we receive them during the discovery phase of the lawsuit." In April, the federal judge presiding over the case issued an order allowing three of McSweeney's disability claims to move forward but dismissed the rest of the claims brought in her suit. The case is ongoing. Last week, Leah posted a photo on Instagram of her in the back of a car captioned, "Just a baddie that ruined your favorite franchise."
