Don't ask Minka Kelly about her boyfriend unless you are Drew Barrymore! If you missed it, the actress sat down for an interview on Today with Jenna & Friends to promote her new Netflix holiday movie, Champagne Problems, on Tuesday. Jenna Bush Hager and her guest co-host, Olivia Munn, talked a bit about the film before the journalist shifted the conversation to Dan Reynolds. Minka began seeing the Imagine Dragons frontman in 2022 following his breakup with his wife, Aja Volkman. The pair is somewhat private about their relationship, so things took a very awkward turn when Jenna brought him up! The 43-year-old host began by saying: "Speaking about the holidays and love and this romcom, you have a very big love in your life right now. Talk about your relationship - if you feel comfortable." However, Jenna continued to push, bringing up a "beautiful" birthday message from Minka in July that said he "has healed wounds in me he did not inflict." It is beautiful. I feel very lucky, he's a really good guy." Jeez, girl! Give us nothing! And Jenna got the message loud and clear then, replying: "Okay, sounds like you don't want to talk about it, that's fine. I guess we don't straight then go to the video of him." Yikes! Olivia, thankfully, jumped in to try to ease the tension! She praised Dan and recalled the time she starred in his band's music video for their song Cutthroat in 2021: "I'll say this - I love Dan. I did his music video, it was the first thing I did after COVID. I was actually pregnant, and no one had known yet. But, anyways, he was so kind, I love the whole band, and I'm really happy for you." Olivia saved the day! And it's this music video (below), FYI! Minka agreed with Olivia, calling the band "the best" before going back to talk about the film: "They're all the best. And I think there's something sort of similar to the movie, in the theme of love sort of hits you when least expect it." What a way to circle back to the original topic! However, she was more than willing to gush about him while on The Drew Barrymore Show just one day later. Yes, seriously! On Wednesday, Drew asked the Friday Night Lights alum if the singer ever read her memoir, Tell Me Everything. Rather than bristling over the question, she happily answered the fellow actress! Minka explained that Dan had read it before they met in person. According to the model, they were texting and FaceTiming after being introduced by a mutual friend, and she mentioned to him that she had turned in her manuscript. She continued: "He was like, 'I wanna read it.' So I was like, 'Well, OK, well, here you go. You'll either be terrified and run for the hills, or you'll see the beauty in all of it.'" Minka pointed out that it, "fortunately, was the latter," and the experience brought them "closer." Aww! Drew then quipped: "God, if we could all come with a dossier about our lives, how amazing would that actually be?" What a cute anecdote! If only Minka were willing to open up like this on Today. Perhaps she would've avoided an awkward moment. We guess she was just more comfortable opening up to Drew.... or wanted to avoid going viral again.
