Kim Kardashian's eldest daughter, North West, isn't fazed by the criticism surrounding her finger piercing. Earlier this month, a TikTok user wrote that "North West getting a finger piercing is breaking my heart, just me?" and captioned the video, "What is going on." The official TikTok account for Kardashian and North replied in the comments section, "It's OK." Users quickly weighed in on the interaction. "Not north gentle parenting you," one user wrote, while another added, "NORTH WHAT R YOU DOING HERE." While some fans came down on Kardashian, 45, others supported her decision to let North, 12, experiment with her style. North West Debuts Faux Septum Piercing, Face Tattoos, Grill in Grunge Look "Most parents around her age don't get to let them express themselves (I was one of those kids). Some people just need to let her live her life the way she wants to without them judging her or Kim's parenting skills," one user wrote, while another added, "Her mam is just letting her explore who she is its just like getting your ears pierced North is not a baby and her mama is been supportive and letting her be herself." North's comments came months after fans wondered whether she received a finger piercing. While on a trip to Rome in August, North was spotted with a dermal piercing on her right middle finger. According to Byrdie, a dermal piercing lies against the skin and does not have a separate entry or exit point. Generally, finger piercings are susceptible to infections with the level of contact and movement on the hand. North, who is the daughter of Kardashian and ex-husband Kanye West, has experimented with faux piercings in the past. (Kardashian is also the mom of sons Saint and Psalm and daughter Chicago, whom she welcomed with West in 2015, 2019 and 2018, respectively.) Kim Kardashian Fires Back at Critics Over North's Fake Piercing and Tattoos In 2019, Kardashian shared a photo of North wearing a fake nose ring at a birthday celebration for Kris Jenner's mother, Mary Jo "MJ" Campbell. Three years later, North wore a nose ring during Paris Fashion Week while at the Jean Paul Gaultier show with her mom. Kardashian, for her part, has been candid about North's style choices. "I'm like, 'Babe, if you want blue hair, it is what it is,'" Kardashian said during an October appearance on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast. "It makes her so happy. I would never take that [creativity] away from her." Kardashian noted that North tends to dress "like a tomboy most of the time." "She'll be like, 'Mom, I saw this and I don't really care if someone says they don't like my blue hair, or my this or that,'" Kardashian said. "And she's really confident and is like, 'I probably wouldn't be hanging out with those people.'" The Kardashians star also shared that the mother-daughter duo are learning to navigate North's fashion sense while sharing the looks on social media. "I'm like, 'OK, we're never wearing that again. Unfortunately, we made that mistake in front of the whole world,'" Kardashian said. "As a mom, you're kind of, like, learning at the same time."
