D4vd is reportedly being considered a suspect in Celeste Rivas' death two months after the teen's body was found in a car registered to the singer. Sources told ABC News on Tuesday, November 18, that although D4vd, 20, is being viewed as a suspect in the death of the 15-year-old girl, no arrests have been made yet and the investigation is ongoing. Rivas' death is also reportedly being viewed as a homicide, but the medical examiner has not yet determined her cause or manner of death, as toxicology results are still pending, law enforcement sources told TMZ. The investigation reportedly revealed that D4vd (real name David Anthony Burke) "took a trip in the middle of the night to a remote area of Santa Barbara County and remained there for several hours" in the spring of 2025, an insider claimed to the outlet. Celeste Rivas' Body Found in D4vd's Car: Everything We Know So Far Police told NBC4 Investigates that Rivas' death likely occurred in the spring. Additionally, a Los Angeles Police Department source told the outlet that D4vd has "not been cooperative in the investigation." The LAPD told Us Weekly in a statement, "This is an ongoing investigation and detectives are not making any comments." Us also reached out to D4vd's lawyer for comment. The investigation into Rivas' death comes after her remains were discovered inside a Tesla registered to D4vd in September. Police confirmed to Us that officers responded to the 1000 block of Mansfield Avenue in Hollywood on September 8 "for a foul odor coming from a vehicle at a tow yard." Detectives responded to the scene and found possible human remains inside the car, which was registered in Hempstead, Texas, to David Anthony Burke, a.k.a. D4vd. Celeste Rivas GoFundMe On September 17, law enforcement confirmed to NBC Los Angeles that the remains had been identified through forensics as Rivas, who was first reported missing in Lake Elsinore, Riverside County, California, in April 2024. In an interview with TMZ published that same day, Rivas' mother revealed that the teen had a boyfriend named David. She also told the outlet that her daughter had a tattoo on her finger with the letters "Shhhh." D4vd reportedly has the same tattoo, also located on his right index finger. (The famous tattoo design was originally popularized by Rihanna in 2008, when she got the ink on her index finger. Lindsay Lohan, Lily Allen and other stars also have a similar tattoo.) Law enforcement also confirmed to NBC Los Angeles on September 17 that authorities had searched a house in Hollywood Hills, California, in connection with the investigation. Though D4vd does not own the house, he had reportedly been staying in the home. Authorities reportedly emerged from the house with a computer and several evidence bags. Death Certificate Confirms Celeste Rivas Was Not Pregnant When She Died While D4vd has not publicly addressed the investigation, his team made the decision to cancel the remaining dates of his U.S. tour in September, as well as the European leg of the tour. The release of the deluxe version of his Withered album, originally scheduled for September 19, was also delayed. Meanwhile, Rivas' family spoke out via GoFundMe as they raised money for her funeral services. "As many of you know, Celeste Rivas Hernandez has been identified as the body found last week," her family wrote on the page, which earned more than $24,000 out of its $28,000 goal. "She was a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, and friend. Her family is heartbroken and devastated by this tragic loss. They are seeking help to lay her body to rest. Any funds you are able to donate are greatly appreciated."
