Olivia Munn didn't have the best experience when she tried turning bathtime into dinnertime. The Your Friends & Neighbors actress, 45, opened up about one of her most embarrassing culinary disasters while guest hosting Today With Jenna & Friends on Tuesday, November 18. She candidly revealed to cohost Jenna Bush Hager that "one of the grossest things" she'd ever done occurred when she was working in Vancouver a few years ago. "I can't believe I'm saying this right now," she initially hesitated. "Oh no! I've already started [telling the story]." Munn recalled that she was "working" and "really tired," so her questionable culinary decision "came from being exhausted." Jenna Bush Hager Recalls the Moment Her Breasts 'Turned Green' "I was staying in this hotel, the Shangri-La in Vancouver, and they have amazing sushi," she remembered. "I needed to take a bath, and I also needed to eat. So I put the sushi next to the bathtub. And I had the bath going. And I got busy and I came back and I was in the bath and I started eating the sushi from the bath." While enjoying some sushi in a luxury hotel bath might seem like a true indulgence, the two activities definitely didn't mix well for Munn. "I had food poisoning the next day. I was at the airport at the gift shop, just, like, [projectile vomiting] into the trash can from afar," she admitted. Munn eventually realized that the temperature of her bathwater must have inadvertently warmed up her sushi. "Sushi's not supposed to be heated by bathwater for sure," she realized. "It didn't taste heated up. It was still cold." The Newsroom alum admitted to Bush Hager that, while her sushi nightmare was a cautionary tale, the incident didn't actually put her off taking baths for good. "I love a bath. I need a bath," she said. "It's the quiet time. I just get to relax." Munn made the embarrassing revelation as part of her weeklong stint as a guest host of Today With Jenna & Friends, which kicked off on Monday, November 17, and runs through Friday, November 21. The former Daily Show correspondent previously cohosted Today With Jenna & Friends in March, after Hoda Kotb signed off as a regular host on the NBC morning show in January. Munn made a memorable first impression when she opened up to Today viewers about her marriage to comedian John Mulaney and parenting their two children: son Malcolm Hiệp, 3, and daughter Méi June, 14 months. During that previous Today stint, Munn also made some headlines for criticizing Katy Perry, CBS Mornings host Gayle King and Lauren Sánchez for taking part in the Jeff Bezos-funded Blue Origin space flight in April 2025. (The all-female crew spent just over 10 minutes in orbit before returning to Earth.) "I know this probably isn't the cool thing to say, but there are so many other things that are so important in the world right now," Munn pointed out on Today With Jenna and Friends at the time. "What are you guys gonna do up in space? What are you doing up there?" Gayle King Says She's 'Winging It' as She Prepares to Travel to Space She suggested that the optics of the space flight weren't great since many Americans "can't even afford eggs." "What's the point? Is it historic that you guys are going on a ride? I think it's a bit gluttonous," Munn argued. "Space exploration was to further our knowledge and to help mankind. What are they gonna do up there that has made it better for us down here?" Today With Jenna & Friends airs Mondays through Fridays at 10 a.m. ET on NBC.
