President Donald Trump scored some major points with his youngest son by introducing him to one of his favorite athletes. Trump, 79, welcomed soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo to the White House on Tuesday, November 18, and made sure his son, Barron, 19, was there as well. "Barron got to meet him," Trump said, according to the AP. "And I think he respects his father a little bit more now, just the fact that I introduced you." Barron is the only child Trump shares with his wife, First Lady Melania Trump. He is also the father of sons Donald Jr., 47, and Eric, 41, as well as daughter Ivanka, 44, whom he shared with ex-wife Ivana Trump, who died in 2022. Trump and ex-wife Marla Maples later welcomed daughter Tiffany, 32, in 1993. Royal Watchers Think Trump Shaded Prince Harry During U.K. State Visit Trump added that Barron is a "big fan" of Ronaldo, 40, who is widely recognized as one of the greatest soccer players of all-time. Ronaldo is, in turn, a fan of the president. In a November 6 appearance on Piers Morgan: Uncensored, he said that world peace is his "main goal" and that President Trump is one of the people who can help accomplish that. "I wish one day to meet him [and] sit with him because he's one of the [people] that I really like," Ronaldo said. "I think he can make things happen, and I like people like that." "I wish that the world goes in a [peaceful] way," he continued. "That's what I'm looking for, and I will tell him something. Nobody knows this but, maybe one day if [I] have the opportunity, I'm gonna sit with him and I'm going to tell him that we have something in common and something that we share." Donald Trump Apparently Asked Queen Camilla for 'Gossip' About Meghan Markle When Morgan, 60, pointed out that Barron was a big fan of the Portuguese footballer, Ronaldo welcomed the opportunity to meet the teen. "His son can come as well," he said. "We [can] do a debate. Who is the most famous in the world: me or Donald Trump?" Ronaldo thinks he knows the answer already - and it's not the current leader of the free world. "I think worldwide, even in that small [country of] Iceland, they know me more," Ronaldo posited. "I think in the world, nobody's more famous than me [in] this generation in 2025. ... It's a good debate. Let's make that happen." While Ronaldo was at the White House as part of a dinner to honor Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, it does not appear that debate actually happened. Instead, Ronaldo sat in the East Room as both world leaders made remarks. Ronaldo currently plays for the Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr on a contract that reportedly pays him $200 million per year. The crown prince chairs the Saudi sovereign wealth fund that owns Al-Nassr. Trump Shakes Hands With Royal Family, Reportedly Calls Kate 'Beautiful' With Ronaldo's soccer career coming to an end "soon," he is now getting ready for his sixth and final World Cup in 2026, he said in an interview at the Tourise Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on November 11. "I am enjoying the moment, but when I mean soon, it's really soon," he said, "because I give everything for football. I'm in the game for the last 25 years, I did everything, I have many records in the different scenarios in the clubs and also in the national team - I'm really proud. So let's enjoy the moment and live the moment."
