HBO If you're wondering, the first book in the franchise was released in 1997, and the first movie adaptation was released in 2001, starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint as the three central characters. Firstly, some simply don't understand why the story needs to be retold for a third time. But, most of all, many have called for a boycott of the Harry Potter franchise in its entirety due to the author of the books, J.K. Rowling, regularly pushing anti-trans rhetoric online. Stuart C. I'm very excited to have that torch passed, but I don't think it needs me to physically pass it." "I wrote to Dominic and sent him a letter, and he sent me a very sweet note back." ABC / Via youtube.com "I don't want to be a spectator in the life of these children, but I just wanted to write to him to say: 'I hope you have the best time, and an even better time than I did - I had a great time, but I hope you have an even better time,'" he went on. "And I do, I just see these pictures of him and all the other kids, and I just want to hug them. They just seem so young. I just look at them and say: 'Oh, it's crazy I was doing that at that age.' But it's also incredibly sweet, and I hope they're having a great time." Dave M. Dave Hogan / Getty Images Quote-tweeting Daniel's comments, one person wrote: "Very classy and a reminder that the CHILDREN in this show do not deserve any hate, save all your ire for the adults.""he's being sweeter to him than 99% of the internet is," somebody else added, in reference to Dominic, while another said of Daniel: "I have endless respect for this man. Watching him grow up to be the actor he is today has been incredible." You can watch Daniel's full GMA interview below - as always, let me know your thoughts on the whole thing in the comments!
